We Need the Holy Ghost
On Daily Faith, we have a new guest to share with you. Pastor Larry Burgbacher is the Lead Pastor of Faith Church, a multi-campus church in Summerville, SC. Pastor Larry wants to see people growing together in unity to discover their purpose and strength through God’s word. Today, Pastor Larry shares his heart on the church’s need for more of the Holy Ghost in our daily lives. The word of God says in Acts 2 that when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were with one accord in one place. They heard the sounds of the rushing wind as it filled the room. The people were filled with tongues of fire from the Holy Ghost, which enabled them to praise the Lord in other languages. This same power of the Holy Ghost is available today. We’re living in dangerous times around the world, and to survive what’s to come next, our faith must be firmly rooted in Jesus Christ and the Spirit’s power filling our hearts. Greater is He, Jesus, who lives inside us than the evil that dwells in the world. Jesus Christ is the hope we have for tomorrow, and the Holy Spirit is the double portion we have been waiting for.

Our outreach ministry has been rescuing abandoned and orphaned children for more than thirty years. For those of you who don’t know, in Moldova, when poverty, alcohol abuse, and the lack of social support set in the home, many families send their children to live in an orphanage at a young age. As time passes, the kids remain hopeless and alone, knowing that no one will ever love them or come for them. When they turn sixteen, they are forced out of the orphanage to find a new life. Struck by fear, sitting on a park bench, the risks of the false hope of the traffickers become a reality. The Orphan’s Hands is the point of interception for these helpless souls. We have a village of homes in Moldova called Varta and a house in Odessa, Ukraine. Our kids have a warm place to call home, the love of a family, and hope for another day through Jesus. The Holy Ghost does a great work in their hearts as they discover who they are in Christ, becoming sons and daughters, now missionaries; they are giving back to those whose needs they once knew. Amid the tragedy of Putin’s war on Ukraine, twelve of our kids have graduated, becoming teachers, psychologists, and doctors in hopes of helping the lost find Jesus. They are tirelessly working to meet the needs of the Ukrainian refugees by supplying blankets, Bibles, and food. God has blessed this young church body with a double portion of love to reach the world’s unwanted for God’s Kingdom.
