Overcome Spiritual Warfare Through Prayer

On Daily Faith, Pastor Derek Draughon is with us to share a timely Rhema word to strengthen your faith walk today!

We’re living in the most unprecedented times all around the world. Within the church, there has been a surge of attacks on our spirits, primarily targeting our minds. The enemy relentlessly tries to divert our attention away from fulfilling the Lord’s purpose for us, keeping our minds entangled in anxiety, making it hard to think—foggy and unclear—aimed at wearing us down. It’s not that Satan is fearful of us; instead, he fears the Spirit of God living within us.

Nevertheless, as Peter wrote in 1 Peter, we are called to possess sober minds to pray. Prayer is the key to our issues, unlocking an intimate connection in a loving relationship with the Father. God’s desire for us is to thrive mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—as if a river of living water springs up from within us, nurturing others’ understanding of God.

As the body of Christ, it takes maturity to recognize when to step away from these distractions. It’s in these necessary pauses that we can take the time to recharge our spiritual batteries through prayer and reading the Word of God. Similarly, as Jesus’ disciples waited for the Spirit’s empowerment, we are prompted to this pause.

For over 35 years, our ministry outreach has been a beacon in Eastern Europe. We have rescued countless lives from abandonment, poverty’s grip, and torment. Families entrapped in abuse cycles send children to orphanages, where fear and hopelessness set in. Once there, they are told they will never amount to anything. The dangers of false hopes and lies by the human traffickers become real as these kids are forced to leave the orphanage at sixteen, the only family many have ever known.

In Moldova, we have a haven of rest called Vatra Village and a home in Odessa, Ukraine. In previous times of hardship, they have discovered the true depth of your maturity as they lean on Him. They have new opportunities to grow their relationship with Jesus and learn His ways. By weaving Kingdom principles into daily lives, love grows in their hearts as they find solace in God’s strength and empowerment. Although distractions may try to hinder their minds, their faith stands unshaken, transformed by God’s Word. Our kids are now missionaries, bringing hope to the lost through our Constant Care Team, helping many refugees in Ukraine and Turkey.

Our kids are ministering to various needs, like the feet of Jesus. Will you help be His hands extended?

As they sow, they know a harvest awaits. Your prayers and generosity make this possible. Join us at www.theorphanshands.org and extend your reach.
