The Birth of Jesus Christ
You’ll notice every year around this time, all over the world, the true meaning of Christmas is slowly fading away. We have become too aware of Santa Claus and are too distracted by the latest and greatest gift we can get. Although we may know the story of Mary and Joseph giving birth to a baby in a manger, we don’t truly grasp the importance in today’s Westernized society. The birth of Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, is the greatest gift that God has ever given, and we have taken that for granted.
On Daily Faith, Pastor Mike Coleman would like to take you on a journey of discovery into the layers of the backstory of Jesus of Nazareth, explaining Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem during the time of Roman control. You learn in-depth information about the shepherds and the meaning behind the three wise men’s gifts upon visiting Mary and Joseph. Pastor Mike is a Biblical Archeologist who pastors Christ Alive Orlando in Orlando, FL. He has released a new book called, Reading Between The Layers; Discovering and Understanding Biblical Backstories. As you take this journey today, we pray that the true meaning of Christmas will come alive in your spirit, and your heart will overflow with hope and joy as we celebrate the birth of our risen Savior!

Extreme poverty, neglect, and lack of social make for harsh living conditions for children to grow up in. Most children in Moldova and Ukraine are often forced out of their homes to live in an orphanage by their loved ones, leaving them hopeless and afraid, subject to the perils and false hopes of the human traffickers. When they age out of the system, they are kicked out onto the streets, leaving behind all they ever knew. The Orphans Hands ministry has helped to rescue these forgotten children. We have a village of homes in Moldova called Varta Village and a house in Ukraine, where these young kids can find rest in the love of Jesus. A new day of miracles has dawned for them as they celebrate the true meaning of this Christmas season. They’re surrounded by joy and laughter and have found hope in the birth of their Savior, Jesus Christ. Our kids are eager to share the importance of the story of Mary and Joseph giving birth to a baby in a manger with those they once were. It’s by your generous love and support through Jesus that our kids can learn and celebrate the true meaning of this Christmas season. Thank you!
