The Lord, Our Comforter

On Daily Faith, Pastor Ray Washington, Lead Pastor of East Lake Community Church in Irmo, SC., is back with us sharing his heart on the Father’s comfort amid our sufferings. Although we are living in the most unprecedented times in history, the war taking place in Ukraine has brought devastation to the entire world; Pastor Ray ministered to the needs of the Ukrainian refugees and soldiers by providing food and sharing God’s love and grace. Recently he traveled to Ukraine with a ministry organization called Gracism Global, which serves people in crisis and bridges cultural and racial divides. Pastor Ray wants you to know that God is the God of all comfort. When we are weak, He is strong. We are all experiencing various trials and situations that leave us wondering what will happen next, but amid this, we can take comfort in the loving arms of The Father. The Lord has allowed these times of uncertainty to comfort you, developing a patient endurance within your heart. As you lean into the Lord’s embrace, you can use what you have learned to comfort others. Don’t waste your sufferings on daily aggravations that poison your spirit; instead, allow grace to flow by showing kindness to others. As you go about your day, we encourage you to ask the Lord what you can do to be a blessing to others?

For over thirty years, we have saved the helpless lives of the orphans from living in turmoil in Moldova and Ukraine. Often, the children are sent to grow up in an orphanage due to their families’ lack of love and support. When they come of age, they are kicked out of the orphanages and sent back to their villages. As they struggle to find a new way of life, it brings about the real risks of human trafficking. The Orphans Hands is the point of intersection for these hopeless children. We have a village of homes in Moldova called Vatra Village, and before the Russian war on Ukraine, we had a home in Odessa. No longer orphans; they are sons and daughters missionaries for the Kingdom of God! As we have helped provide and care for the needs of our children, they have, in turn, shared the same love and kindness they have received with the Ukrainian refugees. Currently, we are sending convoys of grace that help bring hope to hurting hearts by supplying food, warm blankets, and a loving embrace to a desperate community. Thank you for your continued prayers and generous support that help make this possible!
