Yom Kippur: Claim God’s Promises, Don’t Give Up

On Daily Faith, Pastor Matt Woodfill, lead pastor of The Way Church in Spring, TX.

Although we often endure seasons of valleys and or mountains of uncertainty, we know we can trust the Lord to guide us along every journey. Pastor Matt is excited to share the season of Yom Kippur with us. It’s God’s most Holy Day in the Jewish calendar. It’s the day of our atonement. The Blood that Jesus shed was to cover a multitude of our sins, and it’s only by that we can live, move, and have our being. He paid the highest price for us to live in victory over the enemy.

Over the past year, Pastor Matt has experienced the most trying time of his life with the loss of family members, but through it all, he remained faithful to God, and God remained by his side. Today, he wants to share the seven promises of God you can hold on to according to His word in Joel 2 that will encourage you to remain standing by faith. You may be facing many challenges, but know that the enemy can’t get your victory. The devil can sense your breakthrough is coming, and he will throw everything in your path to get you to quit and give up, but you can’t afford to give up now. The latter half of this year will be greater than the former. You will see a victory if you don’t lose heart! It’s a season of blessing and favor in Jesus’ name!

Nurturing hope amidst adversity, The Orphan’s Hands is a beacon of compassion in Moldova and Odessa, Ukraine. Long before the pains of war loomed over Ukraine, our commitment to meeting the needs of the orphaned and abandoned initiated a profound journey. Due to poverty-stricken homes, many children are often forced to live in an orphanage. They face many trials and endure a life without the love of a family. Yet, we have intercepted their path, offering a guiding light through the valley of despair.

Vatra Village in Moldova and home in Odessa are transforming lives through the love of Jesus and providing for their needs. They find a new family, their adoption symbolizing a spiritual Yom Kippur—a day of atonement and renewal. Embraced by God’s boundless love and grace, they emerge from the shadows into lives deeply rooted in the teachings of Scripture. This newfound faith propels them through various trials, each step a testament to God’s unwavering presence.

Empowered by their journey, our kids fearlessly lead our Constant Care team to the frontlines of war. Their mission extends beyond personal triumphs, reaching out to refugees with tangible expressions of love—providing not just food and supplies but a profound revelation that there is hope and His name is Jesus!
