Faith in Trials: Finding God’s Purpose with Pastor Greg
On Daily Faith, here to impart foundational truths for our journey with God, is Pastor Greg Haswell, Lead Pastor of Northlands Church in Norcross, GA. As believers in Christ, we often encounter storms that make us feel overwhelmed, but we must remember these are tests that will pass. Pastor Greg highlights the significance of God’s purpose and plans, rooted in His dream and delight in us. We hold value in God’s Kingdom, and our actions matter to Him. Nothing catches the Lord by surprise.
Pastor Greg recently wrote a book, “Prepared for Significance: Enrolling in God’s Training Process,“ relating its content to understanding God’s love through life’s trials. God grants insights and enables us to live out what we’ve learned through His love. Psalms 139 reveals how God knew us, destined for a purposeful life, before we were formed in our mother’s womb. Life’s tests prepare us for the good works that our loving Father has preordained. You’re not accidental; the Lord loves you and has a unique plan. Despite trials, we can trust God’s process to lead us to our assured victory.

For those unaware of our mission work, we’ve dedicated over 35 years to ministry outreach across Eastern Europe. In a region where poverty and hopelessness lead to a cycle of suffering, families often have to send their loved ones to orphanages. We have rescued countless lives from poverty’s grip and the perils of human trafficking. These children are gripped by abandonment, fear, and rejection within those orphanage walls.
In Moldova, we’ve established a village of homes in Vatra Village and a house in Odessa, Ukraine. In our homes, our kids often learn that the testing of their faith will produce many fruits of the Spirit, yet also learn their significance in God’s plan and purpose for their lives. They have discovered His hands of mercy, and grace has always been there to lead and protect. Their hearts radiate the love of Jesus as they grow in His dream and purpose. This love they hold so close enables them to meet the needs of the refugees and share the Gospel of Jesus. Our kids are true heroes in the faith, doing what they have learned to reach a lost generation for Jesus through our Constant Care Team.
