From Double-Wide Beginnings to Global Impact: God is Faithful to the Finish
About this episode
Bishop Jamie Barfield, founding pastor of Palmetto Point Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, joins Philip Cameron for a timely conversation on pastoral faithfulness, the book of Joel, and the church's call to stand firm in the last days. What began as a church plant with eight people inside a double-wide trailer has grown — through 18 years of faithfulness — into a multi-campus congregation of over 2,000, ranked by Outreach Magazine as one of the hundred fastest-growing churches in America.
Drawing from Joel 2 and Joel 3, Bishop Barfield unpacks God's promise to restore what the locust has eaten and to pour out His Spirit on all flesh — a word aimed squarely at discouraged pastors. "Go back to why you started this to begin with," he urges. "If you forget your why, then you'll start getting discouraged." He connects Joel's prophecy directly to Acts 2 and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, calling the local church to be "a fountain of truth and hope" flowing into the streets.
The conversation also addresses the accelerating signs of the times — digital ID systems, cultural decay, and a rising hunger among young people for authentic faith — and why now is the moment for the church to advance, not retreat. Visit palmettopoint church.com to connect with Bishop Barfield's ministry.
“Your salvation does not depend on you holding onto him. Your salvation depends on him holding onto you. And I've got good news for you — he will never let you go.”
“Faithfulness, staying true, is the only way to get to where God's ordained you to be.”
“Today is not the day you quit. Today is the day that you recommit.”
What's Discussed
Bishop Jamie Barfield, founding pastor of Palmetto Point Church in Myrtle Beach, SC, shares how 18 years of faithfulness grew a church plant of eight people into a multi-campus congregation of 2,000-plus, recognized by Outreach Magazine as one of America's fastest-growing churches. Drawing from Joel 2:18–27 and Joel 3:18, he delivers a restoration word to pastors on the verge of quitting — urging them to remember their calling, resist the devil's weapon of discouragement, and trust God's promise to pour out His Spirit (Acts 2) in the last days. He and Philip Cameron also discuss accelerating end-times signs, including digital ID mandates, cultural decay, and a stirring hunger for genuine faith among younger generations.
It will happen in that day,
that the mountains will drop down sweet wine,
the hills will flow with milk,
all the brooks of Judah will flow with waters,
and a fountain will flow out from Yahweh’s house,
and will water the valley of Shittim.

Intro
Philip:Hey, welcome to Daily Faith Today. My name is Philip Cameron. I'm delighted to have you with us. We have got a new guest today, but a great man of God — Bishop Jamie Barfield is with us. He pastors Palmetto Point Church in Myrtle Beach. And I believe that he's gonna bring a word if you're going through battles.
Philip:I've got good news for you. God is still on the throne. He loves you — a love that will never let you go. Nothing, nothing can separate you from the love of God. Nothing. Your failures can't. Whatever other people say about you can't.
Philip:All the stuff that the devil plays in your mind, he can come and rob you of faith and hope. But I can tell you that nothing — his arms are around you today. You are held by his grace. I can tell you, you are not holding onto him.
Philip:Your salvation does not depend on you holding onto him. Your salvation depends on him holding onto you. And I've got good news for you — he will never let you go. I've got nine grandkids and my little granddaughter came in today, our newest one.
Philip:Her name's Annabelle, and she's ruined me. I'm just spoiled. And she'll come to see me and she'll say "hand" and she'll ask me for my hand. And I put my finger out and she holds my finger. And then she leads me where she wants me to go, but her little fingers can't hold onto my hand.
Philip:And the other day I went down some stairs with her, and instead of her holding onto my hand, I got a hold of her hand. And that's a whole different thing — her holding me and me holding her. And we walked down the longest flight of stairs. It felt a long time, one step at a time,
Philip:but all the time I was holding onto my wee baby because she's mine. And I've got news for you — God has got a hold of you today. And there's nothing, no weapon formed against you is going to prosper. He loves you with a love that will not let you go.
Philip:He's got a hold of you. So I'm just delighted to have you with us today. Of course, it is a very sad anniversary — two years since that massacre by Hamas in Israel. Just terrible things going on. Let's pray for peace. Let's hope that something can be resolved
Philip:and the rest of these hostages can be taken out. Some historical things — we are working right now on having a dear friend of mine who works here. He is, he's got a tremendous business. He does interiors of cars, I mean million dollar cars.
Philip:And he has a calling for prophetic ministry. And he contacted me yesterday and showed me some of the stuff that's unfolding as we speak at this moment about peace settlements and the seven year contract and the Bible. And Daniel talks about it.
Philip:We are literally walking towards the end times, running towards the end times. In Great Britain they've just started digital ID — everything about you will be in a digital card, and then eventually it will go from the card to your body.
Philip:We know that is the mark of the beast. And this isn't going to happen in the sweet by and by — that is on its way right now. So as we see that day approaching, lift up your head, your redemption draws nigh. Now is the time. Listen to me — if you love Jesus, now is the time
Philip:to get involved in outreach for your church and get out there and be bold about your faith. Charlie Kirk being shot and murdered as a martyr — I believe he is a martyr. And what he's done is he's stirred young people that are willing and are looking for an answer.
Philip:But they're not gonna come to a plastic church saying fancy words. They're looking for something real in this desperate world. And you can be part of that answer. So I'm absolutely delighted you can share this program today.
Philip:You can just like it and share with your friends. You can also go to YouTube — very simple, youtube.com/dailyfaith. And all our programs are catalogued there. And also Daily Faith TV is our home base for this program.
Philip:And I do every day a different reel — just 45 seconds, a minute, 30 seconds — just a little while, a thought from the Lord for you and your circumstance. And we are amazed at how well they're being received. So I'm delighted to have you with us.
Philip:I believe that God has arranged for you to be with us today because he's a rewarder. We exist and survive and thrive out of every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. And I believe the daily faith part of your daily faith walk with Jesus.
Philip:So help us get the word out, tell other folk about it. And I believe that God's gonna be a blessing to you today. I'm delighted to have you with us. Welcome to Daily Faith.
Philip:Hey, welcome to Daily Faith Today. My name is Philip Cameron and I am delighted to have you with us. We've got a great guest on the show — Jamie Barfield, pastor of Palmetto Point Church in — as a Scotsman has some difficulty with all these Rs — Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
Philip:He's got a word from the Lord for you today. And I am excited to have you with us. As you know, we have mission work. We've been at it for 35 years. My dad called me 35 years ago from Scotland and he says that our babies are dying. And I says, what on earth are you talking about?
Philip:And he said, I'm watching the BBC and there's all these kids in orphanages in this country called Romania. And I said, isn't that where Nadia comes from? It comes from the gymnast — that's all I knew. And he didn't joke, he didn't laugh. And before I knew it he was telling me, we are going.
Philip:And I said, Dad, you are sick. You just recovered from cancer surgery. I'm busy. We can't do this. And after a few days he called me up and he says, well, if you won't go, I will go by myself. And if I die on the way, it's your fault. And that's how I was grabbed and taken, kicking
Philip:and screaming into the purpose of God. We went to this orphanage — abysmal beyond belief, the smell of human waste, babies rocking in their cribs because they'd never been held and cuddled by a mom.
Philip:And we went down to the bottom floor and I says, okay, let's go. Here's your orphanage. We've got 25, a hundred miles to drive back to Scotland. And he says, let's go upstairs. And I says, Dad, it's the same up there as it is down here. Just let's go home. He says, come on up, let's go.
Philip:And so he went up the stairs and I went up the stairs complaining behind him. Got into this room, salon number five. And in this room there's 35 kids, I'd guess. Just a mess. And as I'm standing there complaining
Philip:to my dad about making me come up the stairs, I saw this wee face — this little boy standing, looking at me in the middle of 30 odd kids. And the Holy Ghost spoke to me. He says, that's your son, clear as I'm talking to you.
Philip:And I went down between the cribs and I picked this little boy up — naked from the waist down, covered in his waste. And I said, I don't know who you are, but God told me to adopt you. And I'm not gonna quit until I do. Well, it took me a year. And we put in toilets — he sat on coffee cans that cut their bottoms — and
Philip:we put in toilets and fixed the roof. And the cribs were painted with lead paint, so I replaced all the cribs. And in the year that it took to adopt Andrew, the crazy thing happened in my heart — that God gave me this calling.
Philip:And I've been there 220 times over the last 35 years. And my daughter and son-in-law are there right now. And what we've done is over the years, we now have a village — an amazing place called Vara Village. It was built for rich people to have a place,
Philip:a summer vacation home on the biggest lake in Moldova. And they poisoned that lake with chlorine to kill algae. And that village just became — no one wanted to buy a house. And it fell apart. And we bought it and fixed it up. Every girl you see on that video
Philip:is worth $300,000 a year to a trafficker. And we take these kids in, put them back in school, tell them if you're born, God has a plan. You're not a mistake. God has a purpose for your life. And the craziest thing has happened — these orphans
Philip:that no one wants, rejected by their families, they've turned into missionaries. It's amazing. They come to us as orphans, become sons and daughters. And now they're missionaries. And we have a team right now from Shreveport, Louisiana — a church, a team
Philip:of 11 folk out there today. They were out delivering wood in the pouring rain to widows. Because part of our outreach, whenever a young girl comes to us, we give them something to give away. And that act of giving breaks the orphan spirit inside them
Philip:to let them know that they can give as well as receive. And we are just astonished at what God is doing. So we are just delighted. In fact, we have outreach — just the other day they make these videos for me now. We don't have a production team. They make these videos and send them to me.
Philip:And we just got this the other day. They were at a town called Bălți. And this is our kids, orphans in outreach. Watch this.
Philip:We also have boys. And that's our boys out delivering stuff. And they never stop. All through the wintertime they bring wood. And in fact they're bringing wood now because it's cold. We can feed a family, bring hope to a family with the gospel for $60. It is amazing to see what God is doing.
Philip:Right now we're in the middle of a challenge to buy — we are buying and fixing two new houses. We had a terrible thing happen to us in the last year. A young girl came to us from an abusive home, a horrendous situation. And the mayor of that wee village asked us to take her in.
Philip:Her name's Maria. And when she came to be with us, she was 14 and we were only allowed to take 16 and older. In that two year gap, the local children's protection made us put her back, and we put her back to this horrendous situation.
Philip:And she was back for a week. And 10 men gang raped her. And she lost her mind. And as I speak, as far as I know, she's still in a mental home. And we had no place to take four to 16 year olds. And right now we are working on a place — in fact,
Philip:this team is in America, from America, in Moldova. We've just bought this place — it's 12 acres. And these kids — this is gonna be a place for kids between the age of four and 16. They'll come to us in these buildings and these homes
Philip:and hear the gospel. So there's a whole new outreach and we are looking for folk to make this possible. Each of these houses will take 300 people giving a dollar a day to support it. And if you'd like to help us —
Philip:now the video you're watching just now is all with fancy furnishing. We are buying bunk beds and stuff that will make it a much more functional place for our kids. And there's a barn — that big barn there — that's gonna be turned into a youth camp where we can have youth camp all year long, reaching hundreds
Philip:and hundreds of kids for the gospel. The second home is unfinished. And we're believing God for the funds to finish that off. And you can be a part of this with us. If you like, give a one time gift — you can finish that house and allow us to take 25 kids into that home.
Philip:If you would like to help us sponsor it — to feed them and clothe them and put them in school — when these kids come to us, they are completely our responsibility. Totally. Most of them have never seen a doctor or a dentist or an eye doctor. And we're gonna change these homes into a
Philip:place of help and healing. And we just need you to help us. You can help us by giving a gift of any amount, or you can be part of one of 300 people giving a dollar a day. You can change a life for a dollar a day. And you can contact us — the Orphan's Hands, PO Box 25, Clinton, Tennessee,
Philip:37716. The quickest way is to go to dailyfaith.tv — dailyfaith.tv. There's a giving page and whatever you earmark your gift to, that is where it's going. We also have an 800 number — 833 Daily Faith.
Philip:Just dial 833 and type out Daily Faith. And a real life person will pick up the phone and receive your call. Pray for us. These are incredible days — with Russia, they've just had an election in Moldova and they voted for the West, to go towards Europe.
Philip:And that's making Russia mad. And so there's always that threat — Russia, Moldova's right next to Ukraine. And we are concerned that they'll come and get us next. So pray for us if you would, and we'll be appreciative of that. Pastor Jamie Barfield is a pastor
Faithfulness Over Speed in Ministry
Philip:in Myrtle Beach. And I'm excited to have him with us because I believe he's got a word from the Lord for you today. Jamie, thank you for being with us and I appreciate your time. God bless you, my friend.
Jamie Barfield:It is such an honor to be here. Thank you for the opportunity. God's been doing some incredible things.
Philip:You told me that you started this church how many years ago?
Jamie Barfield:18 years ago. We started as a church plant, eight people inside of a double wide trailer, just doing our best to reach the community.
Philip:And God's grown you into a multi-campus church now, over 2,000 people, and he is using you.
Jamie Barfield:Yeah. Outreach Magazine ranked us as one of the hundred fastest growing churches in America. Took us 18 years — just faithfulness, following after the plan of God and the will of God for our life. And he's just been so faithful to us.
Philip:And that's the key.
Philip:We all wanna get stuff done quickly. We all want to live in our own movie and say, hey, we're there. But God honors faithfulness. 35 years ago — I'm now 70, so half my life ago — I walked up those stairs at an orphanage in
Philip:Romania and I had no idea. We were on TV, we were on the PTL Show and the 700 Club, and our songs were sung all over the church. And I was set — I preached on houses, sold salvation in a book that sold 300,000 copies. And I thought this is what I was gonna be doing. And all of a sudden God just says, nah, I got a different plan for you. And faithfulness, staying true, is the only way to get to where God's ordained you to be.
Jamie Barfield:Agree completely. I see in this last day, as you've been talking about, there's this great falling away, this judgment happening in the house of the Lord. And I see so many pastors who have been such good and faithful servants for so long in their life, and then all of a sudden get to this place in their life where, for whatever reason, a sin, an immoral situation arises and they fall away, or they have a moment of mistake. And it's just one of those heart cries that I think the Lord is calling out to his servants to say, be faithful. Finish the race that is set before you.
The Devil's Weapon of Discouragement
Philip:Be faithful in this journey and see it to its completion. Well, that is the truth. And sadly, a lot of pastors are quitting just because they're weary, just because they're discouraged. I had a story one time told of the devil deciding to retire.
Philip:He told his minions and demons, he says, I've done enough damage in the earth. I can quit. I'm retiring. He said, but just in case, I'm gonna bring one weapon into retirement with me. And one of the demons says, what weapon is that, master?
Philip:And an evil smile came across the devil's face and he said, the weapon of discouragement. And what I'm watching as I've been traveling for these many years in churches — I came to America first in 1969 with my dad. I've been ministering in America since 1969, 56 years.
Philip:So I'm now dealing with kids of the guys that I used to know. But what I've found in my life is if the devil can discourage you — if you're watching us today, pastor, God is not finished with you yet. God has a purpose for your life and don't allow the lies of the devil
Philip:to deceive you into quitting. If the devil can make you quit, he might as well kill you. Because I've met pastors — I'm sure you have as well, Jamie — that have quit and then lived the rest of their life in regret because of the fact that they've lost that high calling in Christ Jesus.
Joel 2 Promise of Restoration
Jamie Barfield:Yeah. And to the pastor out there that's struggling — I think of the prophet Joel in his time. There was such discouragement and the world was falling apart. Scripture says that there was no grain offering, there was no drink offering, that the apple trees and the trees of the field had been burnt up. And even the joy of the people had been burnt away.
Jamie Barfield:But God calls this group of people and calls them into this fast and into this consecration with him. And I love this portion of scripture in Joel where it talks about the Lord hearing from them, and then the Lord being zealous for his people. This is Joel 2:18. The Lord would be zealous for his people and the Lord will answer his people and the Lord would send a grain offering. And he said, I'll send new wine and oil and you will be satisfied. Hallelujah.
Jamie Barfield:You'll no longer be a reproach among the nations. I'll remove far from you the northern army, the enemy that has come against you. I'll remove them far from you. This promise that he has given — the former rain faithfully to you — and calls the latter rain to come down. I'll send the former rain and the latter rain in the same month.
Jamie Barfield:Your threshing floors will be full of wheat. Your vats will overflow with new wine. I'll restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. You'll eat in plenty and be satisfied. Hallelujah. Praise the name of the Lord your God who has dealt wondrously with you. And so to the pastor that's dealing with discouragement,
Jamie Barfield:this book of Joel is such an encouragement to us and what we have dealt with inside of this season of our life where it feels like the world is falling apart. And Joel is in this place where culture is turning against God and God calls him back to repentance in the house of God, back to repentance in him.
Jamie Barfield:And then he makes some promises to this group of people and says, I'm going to pour out my blessings upon you. In this season, as the world is falling apart and everybody's acting crazy in this season, I'm gonna pour out my blessings upon you. It's gotta start in the church. It's got to start in the church.
Philip:I hear people talking — in where I come from, Great Britain, the United Kingdom — and right now the Muslim population is just rampant. They are taking over entire cities. The mayor of London, the mayor of Birmingham — they are taking over. And the church is in a backslidden state and there's no answer. There's no voice from the church. There's no pushback from the church. And the ministers that should be standing up
Philip:for Christian faith are saying, no, we've all gotta get along and we're all the same and it doesn't matter. And if the trumpet doesn't sound a certain sound, what happens is no one prepares for war. And we are in a war as we speak,
Philip:and the church is asleep in these days. And you are writing a book right now on this subject about the fact that we've gotta finish this race well, and we've gotta stand up to be counted in these days.
Jamie Barfield:Yeah. In the last days he'll pour out his spirit. It's Acts 2. What he said he would do for the church — that our sons and daughters will prophesy. It's Joel 2, what Joel said would happen, that would come to pass. The same portion of scripture where we talk about the miraculous, materialistic blessings of God,
Acts 2 Outpouring and the Last Days
Jamie Barfield:he also says, not only am I gonna do that, but in that day it shall come to pass afterwards that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your old men shall dream dreams and your young men shall see visions. I'll pour out my spirit in those days and there'll be signs and wonders on the earth.
Jamie Barfield:And this concept from Joel 2 that comes all the way to the New Testament in Acts 2, where we see the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and this desire to see a younger generation coming up and being hungry to see the move of God, but also an older generation that hasn't left the cause,
Jamie Barfield:that hasn't turned its back on the kingdom, but has looked ahead and said, I still wanna dream. I still wanna have visions for the future. I still believe that we're in the last days and that God wants to do something inside of me to help me finish this race and finish this course set before me.
Philip:And ironically, or wonderfully, we are living in the days that all the prophets pointed towards. I'm astonished at how these prophetic things are coming to pass. This digital thing — they have the card.
Philip:This prime minister they call Starmer — he's a waste of time. He's atheist. He hates God. But what he said was that by the end of this parliament, by the end of his term, they are going
Philip:to have this digital card with all your blood group, your biometrics on it, your banking system — everything on this card. And he told the British people, he says, you'll not be able to work
Philip:or buy anything unless you have it. And I'm watching the TV thinking, oh my Lord, he's writing the fulfillment of the prophecy. It's happened already in China. If you jaywalk in China, their cameras take a picture of you and you are fined
Philip:and it comes out of your bank account directly. And then they print your picture and put you up in a public space saying this person is being a bad representation of your community. That's happening. That's in place in China. It's the same in Germany.
Philip:So this one world system is being put in place like a jigsaw puzzle, each country not knowing that the other countries are doing it. And so Starmer just said two days ago in Britain that you will not be able to work in this country
Digital ID and End-Times Signs
Philip:unless you have this digital ID card. And that is the mark of the beast. Because they're gonna say, instead of having the card, we're gonna put it in a little chip and you'll never know it's there. And we need, as the church, to wake up and understand that these are the days
Philip:that God has called us to. This is not the time to shrink back. This is the time to be out in the harvest fields.
Jamie Barfield:Absolutely. And I think the American church, if we're not careful, we've enjoyed our freedoms for so long
Jamie Barfield:and took for granted the opportunities that we've been given and the freedom that we've been given. And so we see that happening across the pond and we think that it will never happen here in America. But the truth is we better open up our eyes and we better fight the good fight.
Jamie Barfield:And we better make sure that we're standing up for truth and we're standing up for the word of God. Because what's happening across the sea is going to eventually make its way right here into our homeland.
Philip:I remember coming here with my dad and sitting in pastors' homes after church and my dad saying, what about this prayer in school? Are they gonna take the prayer out of schools in America? And I remember the pastors laughing and saying, no, that will never happen here. This is America. You won't take the prayer out of school. One woman did. One woman did.
Philip:I remember abortion rights, and my dad saying, kill a baby? They'll never do that. Oh yes. We've killed 63 million American babies in this country because the church stopped speaking
Philip:and stopped standing up for truth. And I just feel in my spirit there's a stirring — do you feel this as well? — that like the pendulum is swinging back from wokeness and all that nonsense that we've been into. And I get the feeling the whole thing is swinging back to
Philip:where God wants us to be, to send a revival.
Jamie Barfield:Absolutely. And again, I love that you just tied that in. You had no clue that this was kind of what was stirring in my heart. But the book of Joel — when you get to chapter three, this story is so beautiful where God says, I'm gonna pour out my spirit. And then he says, this culture that he lived in, they had boys that were being given as payment for harlots, and they sold girls for wine. That they would sell their own sons and daughters into the hands of the people of Judah.
Joel 3 Fountain From the House of the Lord
Jamie Barfield:And in Joel 3:18 — I'd never seen this my whole life, I'd never heard it preached my whole life — but in this story you see a world falling apart, God promising his blessings. And then in chapter three, verse 18, it says, and it will come to pass.
Jamie Barfield:And in that same day, at that same time, it will come to pass that the mountains will drip with new wine. Wow. And the hills shall flow with milk and all the brooks of Judah will be flooded with water. Hallelujah. And a fountain shall flow from the house of the
Jamie Barfield:Lord. Hallelujah. From the house of the Lord — the church, the house of the Lord. The church, the local church, the Ecclesia, the body of Christ has got to be a fountain of truth and hope where all of the blessings of God can flow out
Jamie Barfield:of us, out of the house of the Lord, into the streets, and minister to the people. And so as our world has gone through all the wokeness and everything that they've gone through, I truly believe we're seeing this prophet Joel 3 played out in our lives
Jamie Barfield:today, where the house of the Lord — there is new wine and milk and water flowing from the house of the Lord out into the streets. And revival is happening in our world because of what God is doing in his house.
Philip:If I told you three months ago that a kid would be shot on a campus and millions of kids would suddenly be waking up and thinking, hold on — RF Kennedy's niece was going to Europe.
Philip:I mean, there's a Catholic family, there's little Jesus in it. And her mother went in and saw her packing her suitcase, and on top of the suitcase was a Bible. And the mother says, what's the Bible for? And she said, I want to live like Charlie Kirk.
Philip:If I told you a month ago that that was gonna happen, you'd have said to me, I don't think so. But God is gonna use the most extraordinary things in our world to bring our hearts and our children's hearts back to him.
Philip:And the church has gotta be ready for this harvest that's coming in. And your church — tell us, if someone's in your area, how do we get in contact with Palmetto Point Church? Because I believe that God has put you in that part of the
Philip:vineyard for this mighty ingathering of souls.
Jamie Barfield:Yeah. We truly believe revival is happening inside of our church. We've seen it year after year of just what God is doing and his signs and wonders that are being poured out. And so we're here in Myrtle Beach, 2901 Fantasy Way,
Jamie Barfield:right at the mouth of Myrtle Beach, as soon as you enter in. Palmettopointchurch.com — you can go there and get all of our information, see all of our videos, YouTube, all of the sermons. We'd love to have you if you're in the area, or if you know anybody in the area, send them our way.
Philip:If you are in that area in Myrtle Beach, I want you to go to church there this Sunday. And unless you put yourself out to feel the presence of God and to feel the anointing and bask in that glory,
Philip:you're missing it. And I just know that God's doing something in this church and you go to where the glory is falling. Jamie, thank you so much for being with us. There's a pastor watching this now at the point of quitting. We have a minute and 18 seconds left.
Word to Pastors Ready to Quit
Philip:They don't know what to do. They're literally thinking, this weekend I'm going to call it quits. What's your word for them today? What's the Lord speaking to them?
Jamie Barfield:Yeah. Go back to why you started this to begin with. Why did you get into this? Remember the day the Lord saved you. Remember the day that he called you by name. Remember the day that he filled you with his Holy Spirit. Remember the day that he transformed you and redeemed you. Remember, remember those moments in life and why you got into this to begin with. Because if you're not careful, you forget your why. And if you forget your why,
Jamie Barfield:then you'll start getting discouraged and you'll start getting frustrated. So if you're in this moment and you're ready to throw in the towel, go back to that place of when it started. And why did you accept the call to preach, to minister? Why did you accept this call to begin with?
Jamie Barfield:Go back to that moment and allow God to stir and reaffirm those things in you.
Philip:I couldn't have said it better myself. I couldn't have said it better. Today is not the day you quit. Today is the day that you recommit.
Philip:Thank you for watching us. Thank you for being with us. Jamie, please come back again. It's been wonderful. Thank you for watching Daily Faith. Be a part of this miracle in Moldova. We'll see you again. Bye-bye.
For over 25 years, the Cameron family has been changing the lives of orphans in Romania and Moldova — from providing running water, flushing toilets, and clean wells, to coal for heat, new windows, as well as food and clothing. They champion the physical needs of the orphans in these broken and desolate countries.
Many of Moldova's orphans are saved from the horrors of trafficking through homes founded by the Camerons. And in the process, orphans become daughters and sons. They come to know their heavenly Father and are forever changed by the love of Jesus.
God helped the Camerons lift these amazing young men and women out of darkness. Now no longer orphans, they want to return and invade that very same darkness with the light of Jesus Christ. The Orphan's Hands equips these daughters
and sons to become missionaries. Your monthly gift of $31 will allow us to rescue and take in more girls and boys, saving them from the hell of human trafficking. Your monthly partnership will allow us to care for those in the Orphan's Hands
homes in Moldova and Ukraine. If you want to join Philip and Chrissy in taking care of these precious young people, please contact us today by calling 833 Daily Faith. You can also give by going online to
www.dailyfaith.tv, or by writing to PO Box 25, Clinton, Tennessee 37716. So many lives depend on what we do.
Thank you for loving the lost.
Common questions
How did Palmetto Point Church get started, and how big is it now?
Jamie started the church 18 years ago as a church plant with just eight people meeting inside a double-wide trailer. Through what he describes as simple faithfulness to God's plan, it has grown into a multi-campus church of over 2,000 people and was ranked by Outreach Magazine as one of the hundred fastest-growing churches in America.
What does Jamie say to a pastor who is on the verge of quitting?
Jamie urges struggling pastors to go back to their 'why' — to remember the day God saved them, called them by name, filled them with the Holy Spirit, and transformed them. He warns that when you forget why you started, discouragement and frustration take over, so returning to that original moment of calling is the antidote to wanting to throw in the towel.
What does Jamie see happening in the church right now, and what does the book of Joel have to do with it?
Jamie draws a direct parallel between the world of the prophet Joel — where culture was turning against God, joy had dried up, and the enemy seemed to be winning — and the church today. He points to Joel 2 and 3 as a blueprint: God calls his people to repentance and consecration, then promises to restore what the locust has eaten, pour out his Spirit on all flesh, and cause a fountain of blessing to flow from the house of the Lord into the streets. Jamie believes that revival is already beginning to flow out of the local church in exactly this way.
What is Jamie's concern about the American church and the freedoms it has enjoyed?
Jamie warns that the American church has taken its freedoms for granted for so long that it assumes threats to religious liberty — like the digital ID systems already rolling out in the UK — could never reach American shores. He believes the church must wake up, fight the good fight, and stand firmly on the Word of God, because what is happening 'across the pond' will eventually arrive in America.
What book is Jamie currently writing, and what is it about?
Jamie is writing a book centered on the call to finish the race well in the last days. The core message addresses the pattern he sees of pastors and faithful servants who serve well for years but then fall away through sin, moral failure, or simple weariness — and it issues a charge to the church to stay consecrated, remain bold, and not shrink back in the critical season we are living in.
