From Pulpit to Fuel Cast: Tipping-Point Faith, Jericho Walls, and Men

About this episode

Derek Draughon, founder of Fuel Cast TV, joins Philip Cameron for a powerful conversation about tipping-point faith — the decisive moment when God's word tips the scale and a leader must move forward without looking back. Drawing from Joshua 6, Derek unpacks how the locked gates of Jericho were not a sign of defeat but a signal that the enemy already knew what was coming: "The reason the devil has locked it down is because he knows what's coming." That reframe alone is worth the entire episode. Derek shares the personal story behind his transition from senior pastor to full-time men's ministry, explaining how he had to "see it in his spirit before he could stand in front of the congregation and say it's time to go." He and Philip explore how Proverbs' warning — where there is no vision (revelation), the people cast off restraint — applies directly to husbands, fathers, and pastors navigating rapid cultural change, including the rise of AI. The conversation closes with a sharp word on the two vision-killers: distraction and doubt. Derek points to James and the double-minded man, urging leaders to shut out the grumbling and keep marching. If you lead a family, a church, or a business, this episode will sharpen your resolve. Find Derek's ministry at youtube.com/at fuelcast or visit fuelcasttv.com.

Quotes worth sharing

When you're a father and you're fighting for your family, and it looks like everything is completely closed up around you and you're not gonna get through, we don't realize the reason the devil has locked it down is because he knows what's coming. He understands what you're about to do.

Darren Tyler

The moment I aligned myself with a tipping point — when I was willing to go over the cliff and do the impossible — that's when the miracle happened. Daystar, another network, bought one. CTN, another network, bought one. Dan Betzer's church bought one. So what happened was the whole thing suddenly came together. It would never have happened if I had said to Andrew that day, this is too big, too much work.

Philip

In those seven days, he said, don't say a word. Seven days. Shut your mouth. Don't criticize, don't complain. If he let them grumble — this is dumb, we did this yesterday, why are we doing this? This is never gonna take the city — they would've talked themselves out of their vision and their destiny. And he said, you keep your mouth shut. The seventh day we're gonna go around seven times. Don't you muddy the water with doubt and fear. Shut your mouth. Keep marching. Now you shout. And when the shout came, the victory came.

What's Discussed

Derek Draughon, founder of Fuel Cast TV, joins Philip Cameron to explore what he calls the "tipping point" — the moment a God-given vision tips from prayer and uncertainty into decisive, irreversible action. Anchoring the discussion in Joshua 6:1-5, Derek argues that locked-down circumstances are often the enemy's defensive response to what God is about to do, not evidence that the door is closed. He applies this framework to men specifically — husbands, fathers, and pastors — urging them to receive revelation from heaven, silence doubt and distraction, and lead their households and congregations forward. He also shares his own tipping-point story: resigning his senior pastorate to pursue full-time men's ministry through Fuel Cast TV.

Scripture in this episode

Joshua 6:1-5web

Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel. No one went out, and no one came in. Yahweh said to Joshua, “Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor. All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days. Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the city wall shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”

Intro

Philip:Hey, welcome to Daily Faith. My name is Philip Cameron, and I am delighted to have you with us. We are living in the most extraordinary days of all time. Now listen to me. This last week I've immersed myself in AI. I've watched stuff and watched the experts talking about AI. Your world is about to change into something unrecognizable — I don't even know what to call it.
Philip:They are talking about by the end of this year having breakthroughs in AI that will totally transform everything we do. They already have robots in place. This one guy — I was watching the other day — and he says there is nothing, listen now, there is nothing that needs to be done that a robot can't do. Roofers, they've managed it. They're building houses. I was watching this morning how they can pour, out of a printer, they can pour houses.
Philip:I was watching one guy, and the interviewer said, what is the safest job to have? And he thought for a while, and he says, a plumber. A plumber. Because you are about to see the whole world of medicine change. There are inventions coming and new medicines coming. They are going to bring out new metal alloys that will be so light compared to aluminum and stronger than stainless steel. It will transform the aviation industry.
Philip:I mean, we are about to be shaken, about to be shaken by AI and AGI and also ASI, which is the next iteration of these things. And all I'm telling you is this: you better be sure where your anchor holds, because if you don't have your heart fixed on Christ, they're gonna make you question everything. Yes, you're having a baby — do you want us to manipulate his genetic code so it will never, ever have cancer? Would you like us to do that for you? Would you like us to manipulate the DNA structure? And that way we can promise you that your baby will never have a heart attack, never have cataracts.
Philip:Do you want it to be artistic, or would you like it to be a mathematician, or sport? What? Tell us. That question will be posed to you not many days away from now. It's unbelievable. My mom is 96. Mrs. Cameron, we can give you the ability to live another 20 years. There's a whole bunch of questions that's gonna be asked of us that we had never conceived of before. Your great-grandkids or your grandkids will say to you, you had steering wheels in your car — you actually had to steer your car.
Philip:Everything's changing. Everything is changing. And they're talking about having to give people a wage because there'll be no work. And then where's your value at? Then where will you be? We need to know: on Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name.
Philip:I just want you to know that you are important to us, and we are gonna be here with you through the storm — that's a promise. We have a ministry work that we started 35 years ago in Romania and then Moldova and Ukraine. And we've got a place, the most amazing place, called Vatra Village — a place right on the largest lake in the country. These houses were built for rich folk to have summer holidays in. They put chlorine in the lake to kill the algae, and no one wanted to live next to a chlorine lake. It's been fixed, but we built those houses and finished those houses.
Philip:Every girl you see right now is worth $300,000 to the trafficker. And these amazing kids that come to us — we put them back in school, share the gospel with them, and the most incredible thing is happening: they're turning into missionaries. All this summer, as I'm talking to you, they're in youth camps ministering to those that have never heard the gospel before. They just sent me a brand new video from our new place called Promised House. Watch this video.
Hi, my name is Alexandra, and I'm here at Promised House. Because of you, we got the chance to impact many lives.
Hello, I'm Daniel. And we are at Promised House, spending our team time together after a blessed day of serving the kids and spreading the word of God among them in an amazing way. We are thankful for the opportunity to show them the love you have shown to us.
Hello, my name is Daniel, and here I am at Promised House. And I want to thank y'all for the opportunity to be here at the summer camp. I learned to serve and spread Jesus' love. Thank you.
Philip:All over Moldova, our kids right now are having youth camps telling kids that have never heard the gospel before. Orphans — think of this — orphans become missionaries. And the most amazing thing is our kids organize the entire thing themselves, all the activities, the church services. Right here in our own local church here in Tennessee, they had three days of VBS. And my wife spent months making the sets, and the whole church had to do it. And I was watching us doing this as a church, a local church, and I'm thinking, wow, our kids do this all by themselves with no adults there. It's amazing.
Philip:That camp you just watched is a brand new place that we've just bought. And there's a young girl called Marie that we took in to Vatra Village, but she's only 14. And the government made us put her back to her village, and she was gang raped. And if we'd had a place for her at this age — so we decided to believe God for two new homes called Promised House. And these houses will be for kids between the age of four and 16. Gorgeous place right on the Romanian border. And then there's a great big barn, and you see it up at the top of the picture. We're gonna turn that into about the best Christian camp in the whole country.
Philip:It's gonna be run and occupied — that's the biggest house, which can house 25 kids. There's the barn, that's the second house, which is unfinished, but both houses will house 25 kids. And we will be able to change their lives for the gospel's sake. This house, apart from the horrible paint colors that you're looking at — who could paint their house pink and brown, I don't know — but that house, apart from painting, is ready to go.
Philip:We need to open a house. We need 300 people to give a dollar a day. If I were to say to you, we can rescue 25 kids from a life of hell — and then because of the mess of their childhood they end up marrying someone that's a drunk, that's the curse of Moldova, is alcoholism — and we can save them from all of that. If I were to say I can do this for 50 kids for a dollar a day, wouldn't you say, I can believe God for that? I can ask God for that. If I can get 300 people to think that thought, we can open another house, a brand new house at a brand new place called Promised House.
Philip:Let the Lord speak to your heart, if you would, and you can contact us. Really simple. It's Orphan's Hands, PO Box 25, Clinton, Tennessee. Orphan's Hands, PO Box 25, Clinton, Tennessee 37716. And by doing so, you are gonna make a miracle happen in these kids' lives. So let the Lord speak to you.
Philip:I am delighted today to have a dear friend of mine, a great man of God, who has been with me going through a great storm many, many years ago. He has just become part of our family. He's got a great ministry called Fuel Cast. If you're looking for someone to connect with your husband or a son, this great man of God has a ministry that will hone in on their hearts. We're just delighted to have him on Daily Faith. Darren, welcome, my brother. How are you doing?

Fuel Cast TV and Heart for Men

Darren Tyler:I'm good. So good to be on with you. I love you and I'm so proud of you. God's doing some great things.
Philip:The Lord led you to resign the church and concentrate on the Fuel Cast ministry.
Darren Tyler:Yeah, because there is a tremendous need in this part of ministry.
Philip:Yeah.
Darren Tyler:Well, you know, my heart has for years been toward men. I love the whole church, but just the statistics that we always hear and see — that if a man gets saved, if a father gets saved, the majority of his household will come in. So it's just always been on my heart. And of course, you know, I like man's stuff. I'm a DIYer. I may not know how to do it, but I'll get on YouTube and watch the video and then we'll go try it.
Philip:You need to come and stay. You need to come up here and stay and become my wife's hero, 'cause I'm useless.
Darren Tyler:Hey, I will come help anytime you need help. I'm now free a lot. I've got some time. I watch those YouTube shows fixing up stuff, and I'll get so excited. I'll say, I'm gonna do this. And then between my chair and the door, it all kind of fizzles away and I think, well, I'll go back and watch another one.
Philip:You know, honestly, men — and I'm not talking about you — but men have just softened through the years. And it's so easy to get other people to do stuff for us.
Darren Tyler:Sure. But, you know, my wife was raised with a twin brother and a little brother, and when they were out putting up a fence, she was beside her daddy with a hammer in her hand. Anything I do now, she'll say, well, how can I help? I'm like, let Courtney do it. Send Courtney. I know she'll do it. I love her for it. She's ready to go. But I mean, that's my heart raising those boys. I would come home at times, and I remember I came home one day and one of my boys was hanging from a tree limb. And I said, babe, are you gonna help him down? She said, no, he's gotta do that himself. Basically, he's gotta be a man.
Philip:It's ingrained in us. And really, Fuel Cast — that's my heart. Fuel Cast TV is where they can get together with you, write you, and contact you. And now that you're traveling as well, you're having a ministry that goes out to churches. Listen, pastor, if you're watching today on Daily Faith, this man will come and shake up the men in your church. He will have a revival amongst the men in your church. And Fuel Cast TV — very simple, get in contact with him. What's the Lord put on your heart today?

The Tipping Point Defined

Darren Tyler:For me, honestly, I told you before we went on the air — this goes back to me calling you one day, and I asked you about the amazing things you do. And we just watched the videos. I mean, I started tearing up watching those kids at the camp. It's amazing to see what God's doing. But I called you one day, Philip, and I asked you, when God lays this stuff on your heart, how do you step into it? How do you move with the vision? And you said this to me: when God puts something on my heart, when he leads me to do something, I pray about it. I lie awake at night thinking about it, I'm asking God. But here's what you said to me that stuck, and this is what I wanna drive home today — you said, but then comes the tipping point.
Darren Tyler:The moment where the scale tips and you know, thus saith the Lord, and we gotta move forward. And you told me, you said, at that point I never looked back, because we're going with it. And what it reminded me of today is out of Joshua, chapter six, verse one. The word says, now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. Jericho was locked up because they knew the children of God were coming. No one went out, no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, see, I've delivered Jericho into your hands along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams' horns in front of the Ark of the Covenant. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout — then the walls of the city will collapse. Shout, and the army will go up, everyone straight in.

Joshua 6 and the Locked Gates of Jericho

Darren Tyler:It's that tipping point. But here's the issue — we don't realize a lot of times that things that look like they're closed up are closed up because the devil knows we're coming.

Why Closed Doors Signal the Enemy's Fear

Darren Tyler:When you're fighting for your family — see, here's my heart for men — when you're a father and you're fighting for your family, and it looks like everything is completely closed up around you and you're not gonna get through, we don't realize the reason the devil has locked it down is because he knows what's coming. He understands what you're about to do. But the process — and that's kind of what I wanna share with that tipping point, and this comes from some of the stuff you said to me, Philip — we've gotta see it before it happens.
Darren Tyler:The word of the Lord came to Joshua and he laid out perfectly what was going to take place. Now Joshua had two choices at that point. Either he says, man, I don't know, God — look at them fortified walls. There's a reason. Look at the gate. All is a reason. Look, God's closed it up. All is a reason. Man, I don't know. But we've gotta have faith to where, when God speaks something to us — me and Courtney were back and forth on this getting ready to resign the church. I had always told her and would tell other people, I don't wanna be that 70-year-old pastor that ain't got nowhere to go.

Seeing the Vision Before It Happens

Darren Tyler:You know, I've seen them through my life of growing up in the ministry, being in the ministry — those 70-year-old pastors that can't resign. They know it's time, but they can't, because they never had any retirement, they never built anything outside the church. It's all they have ever leaned on. And I would tell Courtney what a place, and we began to discuss that the time had come. And I started praying, and I had to see it in my spirit before I could stand in front of the congregation and say, it's time for me to go.
Darren Tyler:One of my favorite messages, especially to preach to men, is that your next is better than your now. What God has for you next is better than your now. The tendency with men is to hunker down.
Philip:This is as good as it's ever gonna get. And what you're doing is you're really compromising. I've just turned 70, so you just slapped me on the way past. But what I'm saying is my vision and my purpose will outlive my years. I'm never gonna be out of a job. I'm never gonna be not doing something, because the vision that God's given me — and the thrill that I had when this little girl Maria was put back to the village and this terrible thing happened — it was my kids, it was the kids in Moldova that contacted me and said, Dad, we've gotta find a place for these young folk. So this Promised House that we're building right now is not my vision, it's their vision. I'm talking about it and I'm believing God for it.
Philip:But oh, he is so good. They have pushed this thing. They're the ones — Nadia, our head girl there, she's gone to the government and she's spoken to the government. And there are 73 villages around where Promised House is, and they've said, please, we are desperate for this kind of help. So what's happening is, as we're doing this, your kids start pushing you from behind. And that's when you know the vision isn't just for one generation — it's a generational thing. But then comes the tipping point.
Darren Tyler:Well, what I love about Joshua — all of them, the army stood up with him, the people stood up with him, the priests stood up with him — when he relayed the vision that God had given him, because he could see it. What if you were sent the pictures of that house over there and that barn and that house that's unfinished, and you don't like the color, and what if you looked at it and said, there's no way this can be done? No. Joshua stood up and said, yeah, let's go. Let's do it. God has given us the vision. Let's go do this thing. And that's what we have to do.
Darren Tyler:But what does Proverbs say? Where there is no vision — and the true word of that word vision in the Hebrew is revelation — where there is no revelation from heaven, the people cast off restraint. They're not gonna lock in with you and move forward. Guys, listen, if you're a husband, if you're a father, if you're the pastor of a church, listen to me right now. If you don't have vision for this stuff that's coming — all this AI, all this change, everything that's in front of us — if you don't have a vision from God for this time, the people will cast off restraint. Your family will get out of the yoke with you. They won't move with you.

Proverbs Warning — Vision or Restraint

Darren Tyler:But my God, when we get a vision from heaven, when we have a thus saith the Lord, then we're gonna start marching around what's locked up and locked down. And we're gonna be obedient to the voice of God, and the walls are going to come down.
Philip:Listen to me. AI cannot stop the church — unless the church surrenders to AI. That is the truth. I mean, that is all there is to it. 35 years ago, my dad called me. He was in Scotland, I was in America. I was on all the big TV shows. I'd written a book on household salvation. My dreams were being fulfilled, laid out in front of me. And he called me up and he says, there's a Jericho I want you to come and fix for me. And I had no idea when I agreed to go to Romania that I would find my Andrew, and Andrew would keep me focused and keep me in tune for 35 years.
Philip:And now he does most of the traveling to Romania and Moldova. He does all of that stuff. And so here we are now, the third generation, because someone saw a vision that was bigger than himself. And dads, if you are watching me just now, if you wanna see your kids stay tight — my dad would laugh and he'd say, I'm spending my son's inheritance. He wasn't kidding. He was serious. He spent my inheritance, but he gave me something greater. And that was a purpose and a focus for the rest of my life and for the rest of my kids' lives, rescuing these kids.
Philip:The day we bought Vatra Village — that amazing village that we have — was one of the darkest days of my life. It was the most miserable. The rain was pouring down. The place had been abandoned because of this chlorine situation. All the tiles had holes in them, tree limbs had fallen inside, the dampness in the houses. And I'm walking around the place with Andrew, and I said, Andrew, this place is a disaster. He said, oh yeah. And I said, boy, I'm excited. He says, what do you mean? I said, this is us. This is ours.
Philip:And I had no idea — I came back to America, and the night I came back, Marcus Lamb sent me a photograph of him at the White House with President Trump and Melania and Joni. He says, look where I am tonight. And I texted him straight back and I said, that ain't nothing. I just bought a village. And he texted me back and said, what do you mean? So I told him what I'd done. He said, Daystar's gonna pay for the first house. And the moment I aligned myself with a tipping point — when I was willing to go over the cliff and do the impossible — that's when the miracle happened. Daystar, another network, bought one. CTN, another network, bought one. Dan Betzer's church bought one. So what happened was the whole thing suddenly came together. It would never have happened if I had said to Andrew that day, this is too big, too much work.
Philip:I don't feel like it. I'm discouraged. All of those things go away when you stand up and say, we're gonna take the country. We are going to go in there, and the giants — whatever — we're gonna take it. And if you are watching us today and you're a pastor, a businessman, a dad, a mom, or a businesswoman, listen to me. Get yourself up, shake yourself off, and say, we are able to go up and take this country.
Philip:And if you do, suddenly the enablement from God will take place in your life. He'll give you the power, he'll give you the strength, he'll give you the authority to say to the devil, not here, not today. And that's what they did — when they sounded the trumpets and they all shouted, the walls fell. Didn't fall this way — they went straight down. They telescoped into the wall. Not all of it, though. Rahab's house was in the wall, and her house didn't fall.
Darren Tyler:Amen. Amen. You got me going. And what you're speaking to too — you know, when I've preached this in the past, two things that I like to talk about that kill vision are distractions and doubt. And Joshua did not have any distractions or doubt. He was so focused on the vision from God that he marched around the city and the people followed. And if you are a leader — if you're a leader in your home, if you're a leader in your business, at the office, if you're a pastor of a church — when God speaks, you cannot let distractions and doubt get in. You have to move. What does James tell us? When you ask, don't ask with doubt. Because a double-minded man is unstable everywhere.

Distraction and Doubt as Vision Killers

Darren Tyler:So when we ask, we have to move. In those seven days, he said, don't say a word. Seven days. Shut your mouth. Don't criticize, don't complain. If he let them grumble — this is dumb, we did this yesterday, why are we doing this? This is the third day we've done this, this is the dumbest thing I ever saw in my life, this is never gonna take the city — they would've talked themselves out of their vision and their destiny. And he said, you keep your mouth shut. The seventh day we're gonna go around seven times. Don't you muddy the water with doubt and fear. Shut your mouth. Keep marching. Now you shout. And when the shout came, the victory came.
Philip:Listen, I see it. Every time you're on — now that you're freer, I need to see more of your face. If you don't mind, Darren, I need to hear from you more often. And in fact, you've got a plane, you can fly up here and be on the program with me. I want you to get in contact with Darren. He is a phenomenal man of God, and his ministry is called Fuel Cast TV. You need to have it on there and you need to watch it. You need to have him in your church to share this with the men. Let's have a revival amongst the men of your church, in the name of Jesus.
Darren Tyler:Amen. Check out Fuel Cast TV on YouTube. It's youtube.com/@fuelcast. You can get a hold of him, and I'll tell you something — if you get a hold of him, he's gonna get a hold of you. And that's a promise.
Philip:Darren, thank you. Thank you so much for being with us today.
Darren Tyler:Oh, thank you. Thank you as always. I believe your walk and stepping out in faith is a tipping point, and God is gonna bless.
Philip:In fact, when you were talking, the Lord was challenging me, and we're gonna send you a thousand dollars offering from us to keep this vision going and growing, in the name of Jesus. We love you.
Darren Tyler:Thank you so much. We love you. I love you guys. I do. Keep it going.
Philip:Thank you for watching Daily Faith today. If you can help us with these homes in Moldova, I'd really appreciate it. We'll see you soon. God bless. Bye-bye.
For over 25 years, the Cameron family has been changing the lives of orphans in Romania and Moldova — from providing running water, flushing toilets, and clean wells, to coal for heat, new windows, as well as food and clothing. They champion the physical needs of the orphans in these broken and desolate countries.
Many of Moldova's orphans are saved from the horrors of trafficking through homes founded by the Camerons. And in the process, orphans become daughters and sons. They come to know their heavenly Father and are forever changed by the love of Jesus.
God helped the Camerons lift these amazing young men and women out of darkness. Now no longer orphans, they want to return and invade that very same darkness with the light of Jesus Christ. The Orphan's Hands equips these daughters and sons to become missionaries.
Your monthly gift of $31 will allow us to rescue and take in more girls and boys, saving them from the hell of human trafficking. Your monthly partnership will allow us to care for those in the Orphan's Hands homes in Moldova and Ukraine. If you want to join Philip and Chrissy in taking care of these precious young people, please contact us today by calling 833-Daily-Faith. You can also give by going online to www.dailyfaithtv.com or by writing to PO Box 25, Clinton, Tennessee 37716. So many lives depend on what we do. Thank you for loving the lost.

Common questions

What is the 'tipping point' Derek talks about, and where does the idea come from?

Derek says the tipping point is the moment when the scale tips and you know — 'thus saith the Lord' — that you have to move forward and never look back. He got the concept from a conversation with Philip, who told him that after praying and lying awake at night seeking God, there comes a decisive moment where you commit fully to the vision and stop second-guessing it.

Why did Derek leave his church to focus on Fuel Cast full-time?

Derek says he had always told his wife he didn't want to be a 70-year-old pastor who couldn't resign because the church was all he had ever leaned on. When he felt the time had come, he prayed until he could see the next step in his spirit, and then he stood before his congregation and said it was time to go — trusting that 'your next is better than your now.'

How does Derek connect the story of Jericho to men leading their families today?

Derek points out that Jericho was 'locked up' precisely because the enemy knew the children of God were coming — and he says the same is true for men fighting for their families today. When everything looks closed off and impossible, Derek argues that's actually a sign the devil knows what's about to happen, so men need to keep marching in obedience rather than letting doubt and distraction talk them out of their destiny.

What does Derek say are the two biggest things that kill vision, and how did Joshua avoid them?

Derek says distractions and doubt are the two vision-killers. He notes that Joshua countered both by commanding his army to stay completely silent for seven days — no grumbling, no criticism — so they couldn't talk themselves out of what God had told them to do. The shout, and the victory, only came after they stayed focused and kept their mouths shut.

What is Fuel Cast and who is it aimed at?

Fuel Cast (found on YouTube at youtube.com/@fuelcast) is Derek's ministry aimed specifically at men — husbands, fathers, and sons. His heart behind it comes from the statistic that when a father gets saved, the majority of his household tends to follow, so he focuses on reaching and strengthening men as a way to impact entire families and churches.
