One of the great memories of my life as a wee boy back in Scotland in our church, my dad and his three brothers, John and Alex and Michael, would stand up and sing together an old hymn throughout the lifeline. I can still recall in my heart, in my mind, the emotions they stirred as they wept and sang about throwing out our lifeline in the stormy waters of life. What made it important to me was we come from a fishing town. I've watched the lifeboat go out in unbelievable storms to men in peril on the sea. I've watched these guys literally physically fight each other for the last place on the ship, on the lifeboat before they go. So dire risk because someone was lost. And as my dad and his brothers would sing it, all of the memories and all of the visions of those days would be stirred in my mind. Let me tell you what you are today in the world that you live in, in your home, in your church, in your work, in just your day-to-day life. You are the lifeline of heaven to someone that you will meet, someone you will meet today is in desperate situation, struggling beyond anything you can imagine them to struggle, their family falling to pieces, their health not working properly, everything around them, it seems like it's shifting sands. And your voice, your faith, your love could be the lifeline for them today. I pray for you that you will become sensitive and aware to those around you that you will be the lifeline of love from heaven that will reach out and say, it's going to be okay. It's going to be all right. God's going to see you through this thing. He's bigger than your storm. And by doing so, you will change their life. Aye. And you'll change yours too.
