Marked by Water: Leaving Egypt and Living Under God’s Shadow

About this episode

Dr. Don Allen — pastor of Church at War Hill, Chairman of Victory Radio, and founder of RLN Global — joins Philip Cameron to unpack the powerful biblical concept behind his breakout book, Marked by the Water. Drawing from the life of Moses, Don explains that every person carries a recurring issue that will surface again and again: "We all have an issue that we are gonna face over and over again — and one of two things is gonna happen. We're either going to advance or we're gonna regress." The conversation moves into Don's second book, Under the Shadow, built around the Latin word interregnum — the season between two kingdoms. Whether it's the Israelites leaving Egypt or a young woman stepping out of bondage into freedom, Don argues that every God-ordained transition happens "under the shadow," covered by the Holy Spirit's power. He traces this pattern through six interregnums in Scripture, culminating in the angel's word to Mary: "You will be overshadowed." Both books are available at donallen.org and warhill.com. Don also leads RLN Global, a businessmen-funded organization that validates and verifies mission works worldwide. If you're ready to stop drifting back toward Egypt and start advancing into your promised land, this episode is essential listening.

Dr. Don Allen

I didn't see a group of girls torn with trying to decide if they fit in. I saw Daughters of the King. I saw girls who were in love with Jesus. I saw the joy of the Lord.

What's Discussed

Dr. Don Allen, pastor of Church at War Hill in Dawsonville, Georgia and Chairman of Victory Radio 91.5, discusses his book Marked by the Water — a message first preached at the North Georgia Revival, now in its third printing. Using Moses as a template, Don shows how every believer faces a recurring issue that demands a choice: advance or regress. He then introduces Under the Shadow, exploring the Latin concept of interregnum — the transitional season between two kingdoms — identifying six such moments in Scripture, each occurring under God's overshadowing presence. Don also describes RLN Global, a businessmen-funded organization that validates and verifies mission works worldwide.

Intro

Philip:Hey, welcome to Daily Faith. My name is Philip Cameron, and we have got something important to talk to you about today. We are glad to have you. A dear friend of mine, one of those guys that mark your life — find people, listen to me, find friendships, find acquaintances that mark your life, that leave a mark on you for the good, that uplift you and inspire you to believe God for great things.
Philip:Dr. Don Allen is one of those people. He pastors Church at War Hill, and he has been involved in so many things, mission works around the world. I'm so honored to have him with us today, and he's gonna share what our brand new book is about. And I just kind of wait for him to tell you what God's been dealing with him, and I promise you it's gonna apply in your life.
Philip:I actually know we got mission work in Moldova. My wife Chrissy and my daughter Melody went over there, got stuck in all kinds of snow, had a fabulous time, and they've just sent this video to me. I think you'll enjoy it. Watch this.
As we celebrate Christmas in 2025, we wanna say a huge thank you to all of our friends, our supporters who have made this possible. We've had to find a new venue this year because we were bursting at the seams, and all of these kids and all of this in front of us is because of your love and your generosity. And as 2026 comes, we need you more than ever. So we thank you for your love, your generosity, and the kindness that you've shown all these kids — that they are your fruit, and we are so thankful for you. Thank you.
Philip:And that is my eldest daughter Melody. And that's the Christmas party. Every girl you've just seen is worth $300,000 a year to a trafficker. They get those girls with no future and no hope, offer them a bogus job in Italy or wherever — doesn't matter, it's just a lie. And they get in a car thinking they're going to get a steady job and some money, and they use them 30 to 50 times a day until they kill them.
Philip:And we have an amazing place called Vara Village, a village of homes, right on the largest lake in Moldova. And we take them into this village, we put them back in school and tell them, if you are born, God has a plan. There it is. You are not a mistake. And the crazy things happen in these girls' and boys' lives — we also have a boys' home there. These girls are turning into missionaries and constantly, all the time, they're out evangelizing and feeding poor people.
Philip:And the reason why our ministry is called Orphans Hands is because those hands are giving away and caring for people constantly. We are expanding. We've just bought two new homes and we are working on them right now to take in small children. And we would love you to be a part with us. We need 300 people giving a dollar a day to support the new houses, and we would love you to join with us. To our businessmen watching just now — the kids say, Philip, it's gonna cost a hundred thousand dollars. We bought the houses, it's gonna cost a hundred thousand dollars per house to finish them, to let us take kids in. And then we need 300 people to support it ongoing. And let the Lord talk to your heart.
Philip:You can change someone's life for a dollar a day. You can transform someone's life forever for a dollar a day. And you can contact us — it's really easy. How to get ahold of us: it's PO Box — Orphans Hands, PO Box 25, Clinton, Tennessee 37716. We have a website, dailyfaith.tv — very simple, dailyfaith.tv. And there's a giving page there, a whole bunch of information. You can also go to orphanshands.org, and there's videos and hundreds of photographs and all the stuff we've done over the years. It's all reported in Orphans Hands.
Philip:And if you're like me, all of this scientific stuff, this computer stuff doesn't work with me at all. I'm an old-fashioned phone guy. Give me a phone with a number and I'll call it. And it's really easy: 833-Daily Faith, 833-Daily Faith. And a real-life pastor will talk to you. And if you'd like to help us make this miracle happen this year, I'm believing to have this house opened.
Philip:These are kids between the age of four and 16. We had a terrible thing happen, maybe eight months ago now. A young girl was offered to us by a nearby village — horrible family, terrible background, abuse beyond measure. We took her in. The only problem was she was 14, and we were only allowed 16 years and up. And they found us and they made us put her back. We drove her back to this village and we didn't realize it, but we were driving her back to hell.
Philip:She was home a week and was gang raped by 10 men. Her name was Maria. Pray for her. She literally lost her mind. And we have been working nonstop on this ministry and this outreach for young kids between the age of four and 16. And you can help us finish this house off, support this house, and be God's hand extended. If you could do that, I'd really appreciate it. More importantly, he is the father of the fatherless, and the Heavenly Father will bless you for caring for his kids. Do it today, if you would. The address will be up through the whole program. Get in contact with us.
Philip:I am absolutely excited to introduce my friend, a real man of God, that's doing some tremendous things for the Kingdom. And he's the Chairman of Victory Radio, the largest independent radio station in the Southeast — that's just one of the things. This guy has got so many hats, I don't even know who he is sometimes, he's so busy in all the things. And I'm delighted to have Dr. Don Allen with me, pastor at Church at War Hill, and a whole bunch of other things. He's written a book that I think is gonna change your world. Don, thank you for being with us today. God bless you.

RLN Global: Vetting Missions Worldwide

Dr. Don Allen:Well, my friend, it is always good to be with you. What a blessing it is. And I'm just so thankful to get to connect with those that watch your show. It's been so encouraging to hear the responses every time I get to be on here. And I'm just glad you haven't come to the clarity that you probably don't need me on here anymore.
Philip:Oh, please. You're too humble. And I'll tell you what, man, I love your voice. Every time I hear you talk, I think, Philip, you've got a wee little voice compared to this man.
Dr. Don Allen:Well, it may be a little bit deeper today because there's been such cold weather around here. Is it cold in Georgia too? Well, there's still ice literally everywhere. My next appointment today is across the mountains, and I'm about to go driving by faith across the mountains.
Philip:Well, I feel so much better that my misery is not being felt by myself alone. You've lifted my burden today.
Dr. Don Allen:Well, you are involved in mission work around the world, and you have an organization that vets missionary groups — explain.
Dr. Don Allen:RLN Global — Real Love Now Global. It began several years ago as I was sitting with a church in the Atlanta area that had a massive missions arm. It had about 18,000 people attending the church. And I asked the pastor, I said, hey, are you gonna help with this building project at this orphanage?
Dr. Don Allen:And he said to me, no. And I said, well, that's a little quick to answer. He said, I paid for that three times already. And I said, what? Because I paid for part of it too. And he said, yeah, they keep reallocating the funds. And he said, because of that I won't be giving them anymore until they do what I told them to do. So it was at that table that a ministry was born that is funded by businessmen. We don't have to raise any funds for ourselves, and we validate and verify missions works around the world.
Dr. Don Allen:So when I'm here with you, Philip, I want you to understand what I'm saying is we believe that Orphans Hands is not only a safe ministry for people to give — it is proven, it is tested. We have seen the results. I've been to your ministry there in Tennessee. I have seen the efforts. I've met those that were here that were a part of that. And I'm just so thankful to be able to partner with a ministry of such excellence where girls like the Maria that you just mentioned get to be cared for and loved. And I can't wait till we can go over together and see Vara Village firsthand with you.
Philip:Your validation means a great deal to us. And when someone gives — if you're watching today and you're giving towards building the new buildings and finishing them out — I'm gonna send you photographs of what your money has done over there. Because we believe in accountability.
Philip:You have written a book called Marked by Water, and I think it is a noteworthy book, and you're having some crazy responses from it. Like, churches are buying cases of this book to go through a study. Tell us what God showed you and what the substance of the book is.

Marked by the Water: Moses and Recurring Issues

Dr. Don Allen:You know, we're in the middle of a Bible project and I had shut down all writing. And last year somebody came through and they'd gotten a hold of what I call our flagship book, Things I Never Wanna Forget. And this was what they said to me: I was in a rehab in Costa Rica, been there for three years. I was at the end of my road. I was not clean, I was not getting any help.
Dr. Don Allen:And he said that the counselor there at a non-Christian rehab handed him my book. He said, by about the third chapter I had found God. And he said, God changed my life. And he said, I wanted to come here to the United States — this was an American who was an expatriate there — and he said, I wanted to walk up and meet you and tell you that your book has changed my life. And it reminded me that the books go places that we may never be able to go.
Dr. Don Allen:And so I wrote a book, and we released it December 7th. And this book is called Marked by the Water. This is a book that I thought would be well received because it's a message that I preached at the North Georgia Revival, and there were so many lives changed.
Philip:Tell us what the North Georgia Revival is. Maybe someone watching today doesn't know.

North Georgia Revival and Baptism Miracles

Dr. Don Allen:The North Georgia Revival has been going on almost eight years now. What happened was eight years ago, God began to heal churches and we began to work together. And then the water became a miracle station in baptism. And we've literally seen — not hundreds, not a thousand, but thousands upon thousands of miracles in the water. Cancers healed in the water, deaf ears opening, blind eyes opening. We've seen miracles. People come every single week from around the world to be baptized.
Dr. Don Allen:And this message I preached in the very early days of that revival. And that night the altars filled with so many hundreds of people finding deliverance, finding victory, and then we baptized it seems like way into the early morning hours of that night. And it's a small book, but it's about overcoming an issue that has marked you your whole life. Every one of us — I do, Philip, I'm sorry, but you do too.
Dr. Don Allen:We all do. We all have an issue that we are gonna face over and over again. We all have an issue that we're gonna have to come back around to, and one of two things is gonna happen — we're either going to advance or we're gonna regress. And this is based on the life of Moses, who was drawn from the water. He was marked by water, and every major issue of his life happened somewhere around the water.
Dr. Don Allen:And if you follow that, you're gonna learn ultimately it cost him everything. But all of us have some reoccurring issue that we are going to have to deal with. And the next time that it comes popping up in your life, if you can get this concept in your mind, you can begin to understand that this is a moment that I can either cave in and give in and regress, or I can supernaturally advance for the Kingdom of Heaven.
Dr. Don Allen:So what happened blew my mind. We had one printing, and then another printing had to be created, and a third printing — and this just came out back in December. And a third printing had to come. While I'm doing this book, another book just, by demand by everybody in my life, they said, you have to write this book. And I'd love to tell you about that book, if you don't mind.
Philip:Sure. Absolutely. Real quick, while we have time — this is your show.
Dr. Don Allen:And it's called Under the Shadow. And this is one of the most interesting things that God taught us last year at our church here. And I preached it around the Southeast. And I would encourage you to get a copy of this book — you can get all these books at donallen.org or warhill.com, either one of those. But it's a book that talks about the — listen to this word — interregnums of our lives.

Under the Shadow and the Interregnum Concept

Dr. Don Allen:Interregnum. Now when I say that word — interregnum — do you know what that means?
Philip:I have no idea.
Dr. Don Allen:It's a Latin word. And I actually took two years of Latin in my study. My PhD is in English Bible translation, so I have to have a little Greek. Inter means between, regnum means kingdoms. In our lives — I want you to get this — in our lives we all live between two kingdoms.
Dr. Don Allen:And it's the change that happens when a slave leaves Egypt and they're talking and saying, we can still go back. And when a warrior reaches the promised land, the process they go through is called an interregnum. And they no longer are living between two kingdoms — they've transitioned from the kingdom that they were bound by to the kingdom of freedom.
Dr. Don Allen:And the warriors never said, we can go back, because they didn't have a concept of going back. They only had the concept of going forward. And those that said, we can go back, they were living under a wrong concept. Think about what they said — we can go back 'cause the onions were good. I mean, who says that? The onions were good. You know, they were trying to justify it on every side.

Leaving Egypt: Slaves vs. Warriors Mindset

Dr. Don Allen:I'm thinking about this in regards to the individuals and young ladies and now young men that you're helping in Vara Village. How many of them — it's a generational issue. They've been taught, this is all you'll ever amount to.
Dr. Don Allen:Do you know what I saw in that video you shared a few minutes ago? I didn't see a group of girls torn with trying to decide if they fit in. I saw Daughters of the King. I saw girls who were in love with Jesus. I saw the joy of the Lord. What does the scripture say? The eyes are the light of the soul. They reveal to us what's going on inside of them.
Dr. Don Allen:And their joy wasn't just over a Christmas moment — they don't have to worry about being harmed. They can take those gifts. They don't have to worry about them being stolen. They can take those things, put them in their rooms, get in their bed and lay down and rest tonight, simply because somebody gave a dollar a day. Because somebody made a way that those girls could live in a new kingdom.
Dr. Don Allen:They're supposed to be strung out, messed up. The beautiful, clean character with which they were exemplifying is not supposed to be what they're carrying. If you knew their stories, you couldn't believe it — the abuse that you just saw represented in that room has been taken care of by the blood of Jesus. And as you're saying, they've left Egypt and they are now on — they ain't going back.
Philip:And what fills me is that all of the kids that I rescued 15, 16, 17 years ago — all of the house parents in Vara Village were once orphans that we rescued. So what happened was they said, we know how to train up another one. We know how to move them forward. And the reality is, when those girls get there, there's an adjustment period.
Philip:We ran a regeneration program for men for a long time, and we had to have what we call a quarantine for a season, basically to allow them — they didn't know how to go from prison to life. They didn't know how to go from bondage to life. And so we had to introduce them slowly.
Dr. Don Allen:But that's the way many people that are watching right now, Philip — they're struggling. They still feel the allure to go back. Well, let me give you this hope. The one thing about an interregnum: there are six of them in scripture. And if you're a pastor, six powerful messages that you can get out of that. But six interregnums in scripture, and each one of them — every time it happens — it happens under the shadow. Let me give you an example.

Six Interregnums in Scripture

Dr. Don Allen:What happened in the life of the Egyptian slaves — now who are Israelites that are walking to freedom as the children to possess the promised land — is they're covered with a shadow cloud. It goes throughout scripture over and over again. And there's even the greatest interregnum of all: it's when the law meets life, it's when death is gonna be defeated by the Kingdom of Glory. Hallelujah.
Dr. Don Allen:And there's a little woman who gets a message, and an angel says, you are going to carry the Messiah, you're gonna be blessed because you have believed God. And she said, how will this be? And he said, you will be overshadowed. God won't tell you to go on an interregnum journey and not cover you with his Spirit and his power.
Dr. Don Allen:And that's really what we saw on those girls. And I know our time is running short, but I just have to say it again — it's a dollar a day. Now I'm not speaking of someone who has it. We have, and our church has made a significant donation into helping these children. So I'm asking you to join with me, join with those in my congregation, be a part of what God is doing. You say, I can't make a massive donation, I can't give thousands. Okay, well give a dollar a day.

Mary Overshadowed: The Greatest Interregnum

Philip:There are 300 of you watching right now who could join in. You can call that number. What's that number again? 833-Daily Faith. If you dial Daily Faith on the phone — I wish that you'd have to call until you didn't get a busy signal right now, because so many people were responding. Let me tell you, there's a Maria who's crying out to God right now.
Dr. Don Allen:And God wants to use you to show her his love. Around where these new homes are, there are 73 villages with no social help of any kind. So you imagine how many kids are out there waiting.
Philip:Listen, I want you to get these books — put them both up on the screen if you could, guys in the back room. Look at that: Marked by the Water and Under the Shadow. I want you to get both of these books. It's really simple to get them: www.donallen.org. And if you contact him today — and pastors are doing this all over America — get them and make it part of the teaching in the church. Make it a Wednesday night Bible study or whatever.
Philip:And I promise you, out of the wisdom that this great man of God has put down on paper — we live by what was written in the Bible, a book thousands of years old, that literally directs our lives today. That's the power of a page. And you have the opportunity to get these two books together that can make you leapfrog miles forward in your walk with the Lord. Don't reinvent the wheel. Learn from someone's vision and purpose and wisdom and move forward in that.
Philip:So get them — put them up one more time. It's really simple: www.donallen.org — Don Allen with two L's — donallen.org. Order them today. And he's got a whole bunch of other stuff that you gotta get. Get in contact with him, check out Victory 91.5. It's on the radio, you can get it on your phone anywhere. It's a great station. I've been there myself. It's great.
Philip:Pastor Don, thank you for your friendship. Thank you for your love towards our ministry. Any final parting thoughts with 50 seconds left to go?
Dr. Don Allen:Well, I'm so thankful that God sent you into my life — and not only you, but your whole family. A family that represents well the love of Jesus Christ. And if you're looking for a ministry to partner with, I am honored to say that this is the highest standard that you can find. Thank you for this opportunity.
Philip:You are so gracious. I can't wait to see you again. If you're anywhere in the Dawsonville, Georgia area, the Church at War Hill — it is an experience to go and dip into the well that this man has created in Dawsonville, Georgia. We love you. Thank you for watching Daily Faith today. Believe God with us for these new houses, and I believe that God's best is on its way to your life. Bye-bye.
For over 25 years, the Cameron family has been changing the lives of orphans in Romania and Moldova — from providing running water, flushing toilets, and clean wells, to coal for heat, new windows, as well as food and clothing. They champion the physical needs of the orphans in these broken and desolate countries. Many of Moldova's orphans are saved from the horrors of trafficking through homes founded by the Camerons. And in the process, orphans become daughters and sons. They come to know their Heavenly Father and are forever changed by the love of Jesus.
God help the Camerons lift these amazing young men and women out of darkness. Now no longer orphans, they want to return and invade that very same darkness with the light of Jesus Christ. The Orphans Hands equips these daughters and sons to become missionaries. Your monthly gift of $31 will allow us to rescue and take in more girls and boys, saving them from the hell of human trafficking. Your monthly partnership will allow us to care for those in the Orphans Hands homes in Moldova and the Ukraine.
If you want to join Philip and Chrissy in taking care of these precious young people, please contact us today by calling 833-Daily Faith. You can also give by going online to www.dailyfaith.tv, or by writing to Post Office Box 25, Clinton, Tennessee 37716. So many lives depend on what we do. Thank you for loving the lost.

Common questions

What is Dr. Don Allen's book 'Marked by Water' actually about?

Dr. Allen says the book is based on the life of Moses, who was literally drawn from the water and whose major life events all happened near water. The core idea is that every person has a recurring issue they'll face over and over, and each time it surfaces they have a choice: cave in and regress, or supernaturally advance for the Kingdom of Heaven.

What does Dr. Don Allen mean by 'interregnum' in his book 'Under the Shadow'?

He explains that 'interregnum' is a Latin word meaning 'between kingdoms' — and it describes the transitional season every person goes through when moving from bondage to freedom. He uses the Israelites leaving Egypt as the prime example: those still tempted to go back (even for the onions) were stuck between two kingdoms, while the warriors who pressed forward had fully transitioned into the new one.

What is the North Georgia Revival and what has been happening there?

Dr. Allen says the North Georgia Revival has been going on for nearly eight years, beginning when God started healing churches and congregations began working together. Baptism became what he calls a 'miracle station,' with thousands of documented miracles in the water — including cancers healed, deaf ears opened, and blind eyes restored — drawing people from around the world every single week.

What is RLN Global and why did Dr. Don Allen start it?

RLN Global (Real Love Now Global) is a ministry funded by businessmen that validates and verifies mission works around the world. Dr. Allen started it after discovering that a large church had paid for the same orphanage building project three times because funds kept being reallocated — he wanted to create a trustworthy vetting system so donors could give with confidence.

Why does Dr. Don Allen connect the girls at Vara Village to the concept of 'leaving Egypt'?

Dr. Allen says the girls in the Vara Village video showed the joy and peace of people who have fully crossed over into a new kingdom — they don't have to worry about being harmed or having their gifts stolen, and they can simply rest. He contrasts this with their backgrounds of generational abuse and trafficking, saying the blood of Jesus has dealt with what they carried, and 'they ain't going back.'
