Daily Faith with Philip Cameron: Special Guest Pastor Derek Draughon
About this episode
Pastor Derek Draughon of Saraland First Church joins Philip Cameron for a conversation that cuts straight to the heart of what the church should be doing right now. Rather than celebrating political wins and waiting for cheaper gas prices, Derek challenges believers to shift into a posture of spiritual perception — hearing God's voice for themselves and acting on it. Drawing on the story of Noah, Derek declares, "If we take the next four years and just enjoy cheap groceries and cheap gas, then we're not perceiving." The call to build an ark is a call to build wealth, legacy, and Kingdom infrastructure before the next storm arrives.
The conversation moves into the power of God-given ideas, the tipping point between preparation and bold action, and what it truly means to step out of the boat like Peter. Philip and Derek unpack how perception must lead to preparation, and preparation must eventually tip into courageous, irreversible commitment. Derek reminds listeners that "a good man leaves a legacy for his children's children," grounding the discussion in practical, generational thinking.
Whether you are a pastor, a business leader, or a believer sitting on a God-dream, this episode delivers a timely prophetic challenge: stop rocking in your chair, perceive what God is saying, and get out of the boat. Find Derek's podcast at fuelcast.tv.
“It doesn't say, my shepherds know my voice. It says, my sheep know my voice.”
“Don't just rock back in your rocking chair and say, boy, we won, and do your little victory dance. You need to step up and use this four years and ask the Spirit of God to show you — to perceive what he's saying to each one of us individually on how we build wealth during this time. Because the Word is clear when it says a good man — and I wanna be a good man — leaves a legacy for his children's children.”
“The wind and the waves existed when Peter was in the boat. He just was more aware of them when he was standing on the water. But he was on the water.”
What's Discussed
Pastor Derek Draughon of Saraland First Church, Alabama, joins Philip Cameron to deliver a timely challenge to the body of Christ. Using Noah's ark as his framework, Derek argues that the church must move beyond celebrating political and economic wins and instead enter a season of active spiritual perception — hearing God's voice individually, not just through a pastor. He connects this to practical action: pursuing God-given ideas, building generational wealth, and reaching the tipping point where preparation becomes bold, irreversible commitment. The conversation references Peter walking on water as the model for faith that lets go of the familiar, and grounds the call in Proverbs — a good man leaves a legacy for his children's children.

Intro
Philip:Hey, my friend. Welcome today to Daily Faith. My name is Philip Cameron, and I am so glad you are with us today. We are excited about today's program. If you love your pastor, you need to give him a call and ask him to join Daily Faith TV. DailyFaithTV.com is how you get in contact with us. It's so simple. Daily Faith TV and all the shows we've done are cataloged on that site.
Philip:We have some of the great men of God, and today is no exception. My dear friend today, Derek Draughon, is with me. He is just one of those guys that you just want to be around — a great man of God. And in fact, I was just talking just now, his wife Courtney's just had a birthday, so next year is a big birthday. So I'm suggesting that he starts saving right now for that grand event. But we are gonna have a great program.
Philip:I believe that God's gonna speak through brother Derek today to speak into your heart. God knows where you are. You are not an island unto yourself. You have connections, divine connections. The Bible says that underneath you and all around you are the everlasting arms of Jesus. The Bible says that nothing — listen to this — nothing can separate you from the love of God. What an amazing, crazy thought that there is nothing in this world, no demon in hell, nothing can break God's grip on you.
Philip:I'm not holding onto him. He's holding onto me. This whole world doesn't revolve around how tough you are. You are nestled safe. We've got a new grandbaby that is just — in fact, Derek has a new grandbaby too. So we're competing right this minute. That wee thing walks around. She has no idea. She has no idea that she's never out of our sight. When she sleeps, we've got a monitor. When she walks, we are continually — there are eyes on her all the time.
Philip:She has no idea, not a clue. She just knows when she's hungry she can crawl up beside grandad and try and steal some of my pizza. And she just — yes, she loves a little Scottish cookie. And I had a cup of tea yesterday and I was eating this cookie and she came up and put her hands on my lap and looked up to me to say, hey, remember me, like a wee beggar. And I broke up a piece and she ate it. And that was the last piece I had, because she ate little bit by little bit — she ate the whole cookie. And that's the pleasure I have of being a granddad.
Philip:And I watched my son Andrew and his beautiful wife Yemi, and watching how they just adore this baby. And our love is a fraction of how much God loves us. And he loves you. Don't be nervous today. Don't be so aware of your failings and your faults. Your failings and your faults make you all the more precious to God. The Bible says his strength is made perfect when one extra ingredient is added to it. God's strength needs an additional ingredient. And this is what it says: his strength is made perfect in weakness. So your weakness makes God's strength perfect.
Philip:So I want you to take a holiday today from all your cares and all your distress and all the stuff that the devil's lining up to make you worry about. Fear not, for I am with you, saith the Lord. And I am just delighted to have you with us. We're gonna have a great program. If you could hit the share button, you can go to YouTube — youtube.com/dailyfaith — and you can watch us on YouTube as well. Just be a part of our family. The Daily Faith family is growing all the time, and we want to be a part of your family and part of your input into your life, to encourage you to keep walking with Jesus.
Philip:Because boy, there is nothing else in this world. There is nothing else in this world that's safe anymore. Only Jesus. And I just love him and I know he loves you. Listen, I'm delighted you're with us. Let's start the program. Welcome to Daily Faith.
Philip:Welcome to Daily Faith today. I hope you appreciate my wife's ten-foot Christmas tree that she spent — and risked her life on a stepladder that's just a wee bit too short for her to get up to the top of the tree. And she was putting all those tinsels and baubles and stuff in it. And we rearranged our whole — I hope you appreciate this — we rearranged our whole studio so you can take a glimpse of her tree, because that was a lot of work. I'll tell you what, we're getting into that season, aren't we? And I love this time of year. I love Thanksgiving. That's when it kind of starts cementing the family, to let you know you're part of a family, and also for Christmas time coming up.
Philip:The celebration of Jesus. And we just want you to know that God loves you today. He loves you and cares about you. He is jealous over you. The Bible says he never slumbers nor sleeps. Do you understand that all night long when you are sleeping, he's watching you? He's got angels watching over you. He knows how much hair you have on your head. Some are easy to count, but he knows because he loves you. And I want you to understand this: you are not holding onto him. He's holding onto you, and he loves you so much today.
Philip:I've got a great friend as a guest today. If ever I'm going to get a guest host, this is one of them right here. I've known Derek for years and years and years, and he pastors a tremendous church called Saraland First in Saraland, Alabama. Just a great man. He has a great wife who is also a teacher, and we're just so glad to have him. As you know, if you're watching the news at all right now, things in Russia and Ukraine are heating up.
Philip:I was up for hours last night because we have a home — we rescue and we support girls that are at risk of being trafficked. And for eight years now we have a home in Odessa. Long before there was a war, long before it was popular to talk about Ukraine, and now unpopular to talk about Ukraine, we have a home there. And we've taken these girls in that were at risk of being trafficked. And the whole thing in the last couple of days has exploded again.
Philip:President Biden has given permission to Ukraine to use missiles — our missiles, American missiles. So Putin is taking that as America through proxies attacking Russia. And so North Korea has just sent 10,000 North Korean troops in to fight in Ukraine. So this thing is just going up all the time. Last night there was a whole bunch of missile attacks in both directions. And right in the middle of all of this, there's a house with ten of our girls in it that we keep safe.
Philip:So every time I listen to European news most of the night to hear what's going on. Please pray for those kids, that God will keep them safe. And then we had to move them out of Ukraine two years ago when the war first started. They spent a whole year in Chișinău. But their educational situation doesn't permit that. And so our kids — these amazing young boys and young girls that have no hope, nowhere to go, no one loves them, told by everybody, you're garbage.
Philip:And in Chișinău, Moldova, we had a tremendous place called Vara Village. It is a village of homes around a green — a village green, like the old English villages in Great Britain. And they come to us, into those homes, and we put them back into school and we tell them, if you're born, God has a plan. And these kids that no one wants and no one has any interest in — they see the love of God. And every girl you're looking at in this video right now, every girl you're watching — if the trafficker gets her, that's $300,000 a year into their pockets.
Philip:And I just can't understand how people could do this. And we need you to help us to keep supporting this ministry. Everything we do has been done by someone giving a dollar a day. All of those houses, all of the bus tickets. I got a photograph this morning from Galena. She is one of the house parents, and they had a little get-together and she went and bought thermal tights. And they're so proud of the fact that when they stand at the bus stations, they won't be freezing cold standing waiting for the bus to come.
Philip:And we don't buy one — we gotta buy 50 or 75 all at one time. 50 pairs of shoes, 50 pairs of boots, 70 pairs of — you get the picture. And we need folk like you to help us. I'm gonna meet a young girl that's in our house with her two sisters, from poverty beyond belief. Her name is Nadia. Listen to her story.
Nadia:My name is Nadia and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in leadership and training. Growing up in a family with nine children was both a challenge and a blessing. We lived in a tiny house where all nine of us crammed into one room while our parents slept in the kitchen. My mom and dad didn't have a formal education, which meant my dad worked tirelessly in construction while my mom devoted herself to caring for us.
Nadia:Our childhood was tough. There were days when we struggled to find something to eat in the cold winter. We often bundled up in layers of clothing just to stay warm while we slept. Celebrating birthdays felt impossible. We simply couldn't afford special meals. Yet somehow God never abandoned us. He always looked after us in ways we couldn't even see. From the age of six, we would rise before dawn around 4:00 AM to work the fields so we could have something to eat. This often made us late for school, and other kids sometimes teased us, even bullying us because of our poverty.
Nadia:Those moments were painful, but they also shaped us. We learned to lean on each other, to support one another through every hardship. When I finished high school, deep down I knew my parents wouldn't have the resources to help me continue my education. But their lack of schooling inspired me to seek out new paths for myself. So when I discovered the Orphan's Hands, it felt like a miracle. I could hardly believe that such a family existed, one that could offer us so much hope and support.
Nadia:When I first arrived at Vara Village and saw the beautiful homes, my heart was overwhelmed. Our house had none of these comforts. We didn't even have a bathroom or proper flooring. In that moment, I truly understood the depth of God's goodness. Through the Orphan's Hands family, I felt enveloped in God's love in a way I had never experienced before. My heartfelt encouragement to you is to place your trust in God, no matter the circumstances. Find the courage to hold on during life's challenges, because it's often in those struggles that new beginnings emerge. Remember, this is not the end — it's just the start of something beautiful.
Philip:One of the amazing stories of the kids at Vara Village. That girl had no hope. Poverty-stricken family, nine kids, the mom and dad slept in the kitchen. And she came to us with no hope. In her desperation she found us and came and said, please take me in. And her sister — she's got two sisters — three girls from one family live in Vara Village. And I think being there safe, away from the threat — you see, the trafficker doesn't go after, you know, party girls. They're looking for innocent, naive girls.
Philip:That's the attraction. And when there's no money and this guy offers her a fake job somewhere, get in the car — and she gets in the car and she's gone. 30 to 50 times a day they use them. And we need your help to keep that village open. We're going through tremendous challenges right now. We're trying to buy a new property that will allow us to take 50 more little kids in. And also the cost — because Moldova is right next to Ukraine — inflation is running around 50% right now.
Philip:We spend over $3,000 a month just for bus tickets. And you can help us by giving a dollar a day. It won't change your world, but it could change Nadia's life. You can give an offering today. Send it to Daily Faith, PO Box 25, Clinton, Tennessee 37716. And you can also go to DailyFaithTV.com — very quick, very easy — there's a giving page there. And we also have an 800 number: 833-DAILY-FAITH. Just type out Daily Faith on your keypad and someone will talk to you. We really need you to help us, especially this time of year.
Philip:Because today in Moldova was the first snow of the wintertime, and that brings hardship for so many people. Our kids deliver wood to widows. Our costs go up as the winter drags on. So pray about it, will you please.
Philip:I'm delighted to have my friend with me today. He is a great friend and a great man of God. And God's used him in my life to encourage me and lift up my hands when my arms were weary through a tremendous season of attack in my life. And he was there, and his words spoke life. That's why Daily Faith is important. I want to speak life into you, that it's not over. God's not done with you yet. And Derek, I'm delighted to have you with us. He hosts a program called Fuel Cast. And we'll talk about it later on and let folk know about it. How are you doing, my brother?
Derek Draughon:I'm doing good. It's always good to be on the show. I enjoy that first half where I don't have to do anything and you're just talking about the ministry. And boy, it stirs me up every time, because it's like — me and Courtney, my wife, were talking before we came on the show, and she was talking about you and she was just talking about your integrity and how you guys are just the real deal. There's nothing hidden.
Philip:Well, the Lord knows who we try to be, and I just love — I love you and Courtney. Come to Moldova. I would love you guys to see it. Courtney would never leave. She'd just wanna say, okay, Derek, I'm fine here. Off you go. And for those that are watching, his church in Saraland — Saraland First — is a great help, a great support of our ministry. Where's the Lord been talking to you? What's — give me something fresh. A fresh coal off the altar, my brother.
Noah's Ark and the Church's Missed Opportunity
Derek Draughon:I'm just gonna tell you, I preached this Sunday and every time I come on I don't talk about what I preached Sunday, but this one's been on my heart. You know, there's a lot of people celebrating right now with what's happened in the election cycle and all. And here's what God did to me. I told my church Sunday, I said, if you just think you're gonna enjoy cheap gas for four years and better-priced groceries for four years, then you're missing the point. And I thought back to Noah. So I was preaching about Noah Sunday.
Derek Draughon:And how God comes to Noah and says, I'm going to destroy the earth. I'm getting rid of everything. But I got a plan for you and for your family. You're gonna build an ark. And Hebrews tells us he built an ark for the salvation of his family. And here's what God put in my heart: that if we take the next four years and just enjoy cheap groceries and cheap gas, then we're not perceiving. And that's what's on my heart for the church right now, is that we move back into a level of perception.
Derek Draughon:You know, we've gotten comfortable in a mode where the pastor perceives and tells us what God's saying, which is not at all how the body of Christ is supposed to be. We are supposed to be perceiving his word. It doesn't say, my shepherds know my voice. It says, my sheep know my voice.
Perceiving God's Voice Individually
Philip:Let me — I'm from Scotland. We had a thing called the Reformation. And the Reformation was fought on two points: the priesthood of every believer and the headship of Christ over the church. I don't have to go to a priest to confess my sins. I can go directly to God through Jesus. And what you just said set my hair on fire, as you normally do — that if you think the next four years is all about cheap gas and better-priced groceries, you have missed the point by a mile.
Derek Draughon:That is so true. Well, and you know me — if you come to me and say, hey, I've got $10,000, where should I invest it? Now, of course I'm on your show, so I would say invest that in Daily Faith. Great good soil. When it comes to financial things, I'm not the guy to come to. But I do believe I hear the voice of God. And I feel like God wants believers to take this four years and not just enjoy cheaper gas, but to build wealth. I'm not saying in four years it's gonna flip the other way, but I'm saying it could.
Derek Draughon:And what we do in these four years is going to matter. And I just feel like one of the words to the church today is: build an ark. Because there could be a bad day coming. But God will show us and lead us. His word tells us that he gives us witty inventions and ideas. You know, I heard a preacher say one time that God doesn't rain hundred-dollar bills down from heaven, but he does rain million-dollar ideas from heaven.
God-Given Ideas and Kingdom Wealth Building
Derek Draughon:That if we'll take a step in that — the same preacher told a story one time about him preaching that in his church, and a gentleman came to the altar in overalls, you know, just kind of country. And I wanna be like that in my retirement years. I wanna wear overalls with no shirt under them. That's my goal when I retire.
Philip:My eyes, my eyes, my eyes.
Derek Draughon:But he said this country guy comes to the altar and says, in his country voice, pastor, do you believe that God could give me an idea like that? And the pastor said, of course. He said, well, I need you to pray with me because I've got an idea on how to fix Ford's carburetor. And the pastor prayed with him, and this man went — he worked at the Ford Corporation. He went to them and said, look, this issue we're having with the carburetor, this'll fix it. And ended up patenting it. Ford bought it from him, and this man became a multimillionaire. Just an old country guy.
Philip:Wow. That a God-given idea came to him.
Derek Draughon:So I think the issue is this — and I wanna push pastors to this, but I also wanna push every believer under the sound of my voice. Don't just rock back in your rocking chair and say, boy, we won, and do your little victory dance. You need to step up and use this four years and ask the Spirit of God to show you — to perceive what he's saying to each one of us individually on how we build wealth during this time. Because the Word is clear when it says a good man — and I wanna be a good man — leaves a legacy for his children's children. I wanna be able to pass something down.
Philip:Wow. What you're talking about is something that I think the church, if we're not careful, will miss because we're focused on the price of a gallon of gas and on consumables. We're not interested in consumables — that's what we needed to do. I've been watching Bitcoin and it's now up to $97,000 a coin. And I spoke to Andrew about this when it was $17,000 a coin. And I said, man, I don't think it'll go any higher than $17,000 a coin.
Philip:And if you only could see — if we had the wisdom to see beyond the now — whether it's high gas prices, we are motivated by high gas prices and low gas prices, high bread prices, bacon and eggs, et cetera. And that is our pivot point in our progress of life. But the fact of the matter is we need to see beyond that.
Derek Draughon:Well, and when we perceive God — you talk about Bitcoin years ago. I had a young man in the youth group sit down across from me in the office and say, Pastor Derek, I think you need to buy some Bitcoin. I think it was in the hundred-dollar range then. And you know what I did? I thought, man, who is this kid? What does he even know? And I just think, man, what if I'd have bought a thousand dollars' worth of Bitcoin when that young man — when God sent a young man that I was overlooking because I'm too smart. What if I had done that?
Derek Draughon:So who's God putting in my life right now? And when we perceive those things, we then have to prepare for them. And preparation takes work. If you've got a God dream, you know this — it takes work. I actually mentioned you in my message Sunday, and I talked about the conversation we had because I was bragging on you one day, talking about how when you get an idea, you run with it. And you mentioned something to me that you called the tipping point. You said you'll wrestle with it, you'll pray about it, you'll discuss it with people — that's where we're perceiving and preparing, getting information.
The Tipping Point Between Preparation and Action
Derek Draughon:You said when the scale tips, we don't look back. We go for it. And I'm telling you, that's where the church is at. And that's where most people fail. The point where most people fail is the tipping point.
Philip:That's it. Because when they get to — when I receive an offering for a church, there's a point in the service, in what I'm sharing of what God's calling me to do or what the church is doing, there comes a point when you stop theorizing. We could do this and this would be great and that'll be fine. This new building I'm buying in Moldova right now — it's $600,000 to buy it and fix it up and get all the stuff together. And I know that I've only got so long of preparation and thinking the thing through before I've gotta say, okay. And at that point, that separates the men from the boys. That separates people who always wanna do something from those that actually get the thing done.
Philip:And you're exactly right, Derek. The church needs to use this time. Remember when God spoke to Joseph in the dream about the seven bountiful years and the seven lean years? They used the seven bountiful years to build up enough stored food that all the other countries came to Egypt to buy the food — from a dream, from an idea. Do you realize the church has been such a whipping post these last years? But in this moment, in the days to come, it could become the light on the hill that it's supposed to be. We could literally become the lighthouse if we would prepare the way God wants us to right now.
Philip:And I mean — Peter comes up every time we have a show together. But I always tell people — I said it in my message Sunday — when Peter said to Jesus, if that's you out there, bid me come to you on the water. When he climbed down out of the side of that boat and he put that first foot on the water, it was not hard. Tipping point. It didn't feel like he could stand on it. He had to let go of what he had been doing. He had to let go of what he had been trusting in. And that's where fear moves into faith — when we let go of the boat, even though it doesn't feel like we can stand on water yet.
Joseph's Seven Years and Church as Lighthouse
Derek Draughon:And that's what we walk on water for. There's someone watching us today — could be a pastor, could be a business person — and you've been mulling something over and you know it's a good idea and you're thinking about it. In the name of Jesus, get out of the boat and stand up on the water, because it's your season. This could be the greatest breakthrough of your life if you'll have the courage to move out and do it. Amen.
Philip:Amen. That's it. You've got my brain all on fire again. It's true. I've been talking to Andrew and my son Philip, and this whole thing in Moldova and this house — what's happened is, because of Moldova's position, when the Germans invaded Russia they ran over Moldova, when the Russians invaded Germany they ran over it. So the whole system is in a mess. You don't know whose land this is. And we've tried three or four times to buy buildings and they couldn't get the titles clear. And every time we'd give up and try something else.
Peter Walking on Water and Letting Go
Philip:And every time the devil's been saying to me, nah, this is not gonna work, this is not gonna work. And I've kept persisting, telling Nadia, come on Nadia, there's something else. And she came up with this incredible place, better than all the others. And the Lord's saying, okay then, come on Philip. I'm pushing Nadia now. The Lord's saying, get out of the boat. And your word today for me has been a great encouragement. Someone needs this.
Derek Draughon:Well, and it is persistence. Because when you look at Peter on the water, he starts walking toward Jesus. Can you imagine? I really believe — I used to think we could go into a theater in heaven and watch these moments. But I almost think now that when I get to heaven, God will be able to translate me back to that moment. Can you imagine Peter when he first starts walking on the water? That's crazy. But then all of a sudden he sees the wind and the waves. And that's where persistence kicks in. That's where you gotta keep going. You gotta keep moving.
Derek Draughon:You gotta put on the full armor of God. I grew up in a church with my dad where he would preach the full armor of God. But he would say, when you've done everything to stand — stand firm then. And when I say it in our church, I can see the people that were there with my dad. They mouth it with me: you stand firm then. And that's what I was raised on. And that's what it's gonna take, because it is not always gonna look perfect. But we gotta maintain that persistence. And when we've done all to stand, we stand firm then.
Philip:We show you pictures, videos of Vara Village — that gorgeous place and those gorgeous homes. I made a decision on the darkest day of my life standing on that green. And I said to Andrew, who was with me, I said, Andrew, we have got to believe God for this. It was nuts. Everything, every circumstance — I can't even begin to tell you how bad things were. And I said to Andrew, we've got to believe God for this.
Philip:And within a day, Marcus Lamb — now passed away — had given a hundred thousand dollars to buy one of the houses. And miracles started breaking out because I didn't look at the wind and the waves at the time. I got out of the boat. And the wind and the waves existed when Peter was in the boat. He just was more aware of them when he was standing on the water. But he was on the water.
Philip:And I just know this for sure today, Derek. Someone is sitting watching us right now, and you are on the precipice. You are at the point, the threshold of the breakthrough of your life. If you'll only believe God and make this decision — I'm gonna do it. Hallelujah. That's it. Boy, what a word.
Derek Draughon:What a word. Oh my goodness. You add to my words. I need you to just come preach for me every Sunday.
Philip:No, no. We tag team. We gotta do that one time. I'm gonna come. We'll do a tag team, because I did that one time with Pat Schatzline Sr. I was preaching in — he was in Scotland and I was in the middle of this message flying high. And I just stopped. I said, okay, Pat, finish. And I sat down and he's looking at me and he says, are you serious? I said, I'm done. You go up and finish the message.
Philip:And we'll have to do that. But I do know this, Derek — what you said today, I know how it quickens my spirit, because we've been going through situations right now with this new vision that we have. And the devil's saying it's a bad time, all the reasons why not to. And God is saying, get out of the boat. I want you — if you are watching this and you live anywhere near Saraland, it's in the Mobile area — go and meet my friend, because he's a great man of God with a great church.
Fuel Cast and Encouragement to Step Out
Philip:And if you're wherever you are in America, see FuelCast.tv — write that down. If you're a wife looking today for a way to bless your husband, tell him to watch Fuel Cast, because this is a guys' program and it will be a great blessing to you. Derek, we're all out of time. Again, I love you so much. Thank you for being with us on Daily Faith, and blessings upon you and yours at this Thanksgiving season. Love you guys.
Derek Draughon:Love you guys. God bless you.
Philip:Thank you for watching Daily Faith today. Get up and do it. Get past the tipping point. We'll see you again. Amen. Bye-bye.
For over 25 years the Cameron family has been changing the lives of orphans in Romania and Moldova — from providing running water, flushing toilets, and clean wells to coal for heat, new windows, as well as food and clothing. They champion the physical needs of the orphans in these broken and desolate countries. Many of Moldova's orphans are saved from the horrors of trafficking through homes founded by the Camerons. And in the process, orphans become daughters and sons. They come to know their heavenly Father and are forever changed by the love of Jesus.
God helped the Camerons lift these amazing young men and women out of darkness — now no longer orphans. They want to return and invade that very same darkness with the light of Jesus Christ. The Orphan's Hands equips these daughters and sons to become missionaries. Your monthly gift of $31 will allow us to rescue and take in more girls and boys, saving them from the hell of human trafficking. Common questions
What was Pastor Derek's main message about the next four years after the election?
Derek warned his church not to treat the next four years as simply an opportunity to enjoy cheaper gas and lower grocery prices. He urged believers to use this window to perceive what God is saying, build wealth, and prepare — much like Noah built the ark before the flood came — because the season could shift, and what the church does now will matter.
What does Pastor Derek mean when he talks about 'the tipping point'?
Derek described the tipping point as the moment when you stop theorizing about a God-given idea and actually commit to it — and he said that's exactly where most people fail. He credited Philip with the concept: you pray, wrestle with it, and gather information, but when the scale tips, you stop looking back and go for it.
Does Pastor Derek believe God gives people practical, money-making ideas?
Yes — Derek shared a story about a preacher who taught that God rains million-dollar ideas from heaven rather than hundred-dollar bills. As an example, a country man in overalls prayed for an idea to fix Ford's carburetor, patented the solution, sold it to Ford, and became a multimillionaire. Derek used this to encourage believers to ask the Spirit of God for witty inventions and ideas during this season.
What lesson does Pastor Derek draw from Peter walking on water?
Derek pointed out that the wind and waves existed while Peter was still in the boat — Peter just became more aware of them once he stepped out. He used this to encourage anyone mulling over a God-given idea to get out of the boat, because persistence through the scary part is what leads to breakthrough. His takeaway: 'When you've done everything to stand — stand firm then.'
What is FuelCast and who is it for?
FuelCast (FuelCast.tv) is a program hosted by Pastor Derek Draughon. He and Philip described it as a show aimed specifically at men, and Philip suggested wives share it with their husbands as a way to encourage and bless them.
