Around this time of the year, I'm always reflective of my life and my past and how time is flying. I'm now 70 years of age. I can't believe I'm 70. I still feel like a boy on the inside. But when I reflect on the wisdoms of my mom and my dad and how much they invested in my life and how many times they spent inordinate amounts of time walking me through crisis. I remember years and years ago, I was in my early 20s, and I went through a real crisis of my own self. I didn't know whether God wanted me to do this. My dad was a great preacher. Who was I to follow in behind him? And I went through such a nerve-wracking experience that I would go out to my mom's house. And one day, I remember she was digging her garden around the front of her house, and I couldn't leave her. I just stood beside her. Didn't say a word. She didn't speak. She just dug up whatever she implanted. And I just stood beside her because there was confidence and there was strength in her presence. I hope in your life that when you walk in a room and when you speak and when you are around your kids and grandkids, that just by being there, just the fact that you are there, brings stability and strength and courage to those that God has placed in your life. You're important. You're important. Your words are important. Your heart's important. Your example is important. And I want to tell you something.
