The Bible tells us very graphically that they'd fished all night and caught nothing. These guys are fishermen. In fact, there's a partnership. They had more than just one boat. They were a pair of boats. It was a company. These weren't just illiterate, you know, unlearned men. These were businessmen. And they'd fished all night and caught nothing. And this stranger appears and says, Hey, guys, cast your net over the other side. And they caught a great draft of fish, the Bible describes it. So much so that the nets began to break and the boats began to sink. And I've learned one thing coming from a wee fishing town in Scotland. Nets just don't begin. They either do or they don't break. And boats don't begin to sink. They either sink or they don't. But when there's a divine purpose in it, everything changes. And they landed the nets and they landed their boats. And they got their fish out of the water. And they're thinking as businessmen, My goodness, this is the best catch of fish we've ever had. And then this stranger speaks up and says, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. The only way he could convince these businessmen to follow him was to surpass their expectations in the world they knew. They were fishermen. And nets almost breaking and ships almost sinking. Surely underlines that this man is no ordinary man. And they never sold their fish. They left their boats and left their nets and followed after him. And you and I were one of the fish that he promised them all those years ago. Destiny transforms you from just being a regular Joe into someone that can turn the light of the gospel into someone's darkened heart. So I believe that God's calling you to become a fisher of men in your work, in your family, everywhere around you there are fish to be caught for the kingdom. And if you listen and if you follow, you will never be the same again. It will change your life.
