Your words will make a difference!

When I was a boy back in Scotland growing up, my mom would take us out in the countryside and drives in our little van that we had. And we would go to fields and it was in lambing season, we used to watch the lambs being born on the fields. It's the most amazing thing. These wee little things coming into the world and within a few minutes jumping around and dancing. Just the most amazing thing to watch. In all the years I've done that, in all the lambs I've seen born, I've never once seen a shepherd give birth to a lamb. Sheep give birth to lambs. Shepherds guard the sheep. And I want to encourage you today that God has called us to care for each other and love each other and shepherd each other in this most holy faith. There are people in your lives that depend on you every single day. Every day they look to you, your attitude sets their tone. How you feel affects how they feel. And there's nothing more powerful than be the person in their life to give them a word of affirmation. Your words, the Bible says, can keep men on their feet, confirm the feeble knees. Your words, like the shepherd cared for the lambs, but it was the sheep that gave birth to the lambs. And your words have got the power of life and death to care for someone and love someone. So make an effort today and make a decision that today from now on, I'm going to be the voice of encouragement and love and uplift in my world. If you do, it will change your life.
