Make room for the anointing!

Jun 20, 2025 0:58

Drawing on the story of the Shunammite woman, Philip Cameron contrasts a fleeting Sunday touch from God with the transformative power of an abiding anointing. He calls viewers to intentionally make room for God's presence in their lives, promising it will change everything.

A great story in the Bible is about the Shunammite woman. The prophet would come into the area and have a meal with him. And one day she said to her husband, I don't want just him to come and have a meal. I want to make a place where he can stay. The reason why was that she wanted an abiding anointing, not just a visit. Most folk just want a touch from the Lord on a Sunday morning, just enough to keep them spiritual. But that's not what God wants in your life. He wants to come and take residence in your life. And they built a place for the prophet to come. And when Christ came, she was barren. She produced a child because the prophet said it. When he died, she went to the prophet and he was raised from the dead. It was the abiding anointing that changed her world. And if you'll do it in your life, if you'll make a place for the anointed to stay, it'll change your life too.
